Predicting 1 Blockbuster NFL Trade Per Team: De’Von Achane, A.J. Brown, Alvin Kamara Among Top Targets for Contenders

With the NFL Trade Deadline just a month away, we decided to examine the league and consider what moves every team should make to build. Like every season, there will be teams seeking to improve and make the playoffs, or even win a Super Bowl, while others will look to sell assets to improve their outlook.

Arizona Cardinals: Trade for RB Travis Etienne

Proposed Trade: RB Travis Etienne for RB Michael Carter and a 2026 fourth-round pick

With James Connor and Trey Benson sidelined, this could be a decisive move for Etienne to boost his value as a free agent this offseason or even become the answer at running back for the Cardinals. Although Connor is reliable with the ball in his hands, part of a player’s reliability is availability. Another factor in that decision is that Connor’s contract includes an option for the following season, with only a $2.5 million dead cap hit if they choose to move on. I also think Jacksonville would be intrigued by having RB Michael Carter return, as someone they could utilize.

Atlanta Falcons: Trade QB Kirk Cousins

Proposed Trade: QB Kirk Cousins for QB Brett Rypien and a 2026 sixth-round pick

The tumultuous tale of Kirk Cousins’ career as a Falcon earned him handsome pay and made him compete for his job from day one. This trade situation seems more likely with coach Raheem Morris coming out and saying, “Mike’s our quarterback,” regarding Michael Penix Jr. “We got a lot of confidence in Mike, we’re moving forward with Mike, Mike’s the guy until I let you guys know otherwise. Kirk lost his job last year, but we’re not even close to that moment with Mike.”

A fresh start makes sense for both sides, especially if Morris doesn’t expect to play him.

Baltimore Ravens: Trade TE Mark Andrews and LB Kyle Van Noy

Proposed Trade: TE Mark Andrews for a 2027 fourth-round pick

Proposed Trade: LB Kyle Van Noy for a 2026 sixth-round pick

While I wouldn’t necessarily wave the white flag on this season, trading some veterans on expiring deals wouldn’t break the spirits of this always-hungry Baltimore Ravens organization. After a tough start, this could clear some cap space to extend some younger foundational guys and allow them to explore free agency a little more freely this offseason. Moving on from a guy like Mark Andrews may be tough for the Baltimore fanbase, but Isaiah Likely has filled his role nicely and should be expected to do so again.

Buffalo Bills: Trade for CB Mike Jackson

Proposed Trade: CB Mike Jackson for TE Dawson Knox

The Buffalo Bills have been constantly hit with injuries at the cornerback position this season, and getting some depth would go a long way toward ensuring they aren’t hanging on by a thread at any point. Mike Jackson is having an incredible season for the Carolina Panthers, ranking as the 11th-best cornerback in the entire league based on our PFSN CBi ranking system, which grades his performance so far at 89.1, or a B+.

The Buffalo Bills look pretty loaded after the season’s first quarter, and some depth is always good, so 53-man rosters are customary in the league. I thought an interesting trade for both sides would be Mike Jackson for TE Dawson Knox.

Carolina Panthers: Trade for TE Dawson Knox

Proposed Trade: CB Mike Jackson for TE Dawson Knox

Dawson Knox entered the scene in 2021, his third season in Buffalo. That year, he caught nine touchdowns in 15 games and had a career high of 587 yards. He has caught nine touchdowns in the three-and-a-quarter seasons since 2021, and a big part of it is that he was replaced as the main guy by Dalton Kincaid.

Using our PFSN TEi rankings, you can see that in 2021, he was rated as the 12th-best tight end in the league, and followed that up with being 11th in 2022, but since Kincaid has stolen the show, Knox hasn’t graded above 37th. A change of scenery could be good for Knox, and if they can unlock that form, it will be a substantial improvement over the current top-rated tight end, Tommy Tremble.

Chicago Bears: Trade for RB De’Von Achane

Proposed Trade: RB De’Von Achane for RB Roschon Johnson, a 2026 second-round pick, and a 2026 fourth-round pick

It seems that the Chicago Bears will go all out to make this work for Caleb Williams, and you have to respect their commitment to the effort. However, to compete in this division, they must be bold and explore making a big splash to help take their 21st-ranked offense to the next level. Enter De’Von Achane.

Since he put on a Miami Dolphins uniform, Achane has been an impactful player. In 32 games played, he has 1,953 yards rushing, 932 yards receiving, and 26 total touchdowns. He has an outstandingly low cap hit of $1.73 million next season and will be eligible for an extension beyond that this season. The Bears need to take a chance here and get Williams, this Swiss army knife who makes everyone around him’s job easier, and take the next step as an offense.

Cincinnati Bengals: Trade QB for Kirk Cousins, Trade EDGE Trey Hendrickson

Proposed Trade: QB Kirk Cousins for QB Brett Rypien and a 2026 sixth-round pick

Proposed Trade: EDGE Trey Hendrickson for a 2026 second-round pick

Cousins is likely out of Atlanta based on the team’s actions since his arrival, and truthfully, he has not played up to the usual standard he had in years past. That said, getting him in the room with another elite former LSU wide receiver can potentially salvage the season, even if they move on from a couple of expiring deals this season.

Jake Browning has been among the best backup quarterbacks in football, but he has shown in recent years that he should be more of a spot starter than someone to be relied on for an extended period.

Cleveland Browns: Trade Greg Newsome II and David Njoku

Proposed Trade: CB Greg Newsome II for a 2026 fourth-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick

Proposed Trade: TE David Njoku for a 2026 fourth-round pick

While the offense is a work in progress, the defense is legit, and I have confidence in them to bring in someone just as strong a fit next season as Greg Newsome. Newsome is an excellent player, and besides a down year last year, he has been among the league’s best at the position for the three years prior.

David Njoku was a good player on the field, but his injury history prevented him from realizing that upside. The writing was on the wall for Njoku when the Browns brought in Harold Fannin Jr. and how they have worked him in. The Browns are a promising team for the first time in a while, and while they still have some development to do, neither of these moves will hinder the growth of Dillon Gabriel or Shadeur Sanders if they eventually opt to pursue that route.

Dallas Cowboys: Trade for EDGE Jaelan Phillips

Proposed Trade: EDGE Jaelan Phillips for a 2026 fourth-round pick

In Jaelan Phillips’ last full season, 2023-24, he registered as the fourth-best edge rusher and 13th-best player in the entire league, grading 94.4 on our PFSN LBi ranking for the year. While there is no replacing Micah Parsons, bringing in someone who possesses that truly elite upside would benefit the Dallas Cowboys, especially seeing how they really get a lot out of the defensive players they bring in.

I believe that this would work out exceptionally well for Dallas, with Phillips and Kenny Clark leading a dominant and hungry front that can help everyone around them play better.

Denver Broncos: Trade for WR Tyler Lockett

Proposed Trade: WR Tyler Lockett and a 2028 seventh-round pick for the Eagles’ 2026 sixth-round pick

This Denver Broncos team is loaded, and there isn’t much they need, per se, but I think some experience could go a long way on offense for young star QB Bo Nix and crew. The Tyler Lockett to Tennessee experiment has seen him receive 12 targets in four games, despite the offense struggling. Getting any asset for him would be a rare win for the Titans in 2025. He may not be the WR7 like he was in 2021, per our WRi rankings, but he could provide some much-needed veteran know-how to their expansive receiver room.

Detroit Lions: Trade for EDGE Trey Hendrickson

Proposed Trade: EDGE Trey Hendrickson for a 2026 second-round pick

One of the bigger swings at the deadline would be the Lions’ going out and getting Trey Hendrickson. They did something similar last year with bringing in Za’Darius Smith, but this is a different level of game-changing talent alongside Hutchinson. This will elevate them to compete with the best teams in this league on that side of the ball, as the offense is already elite. To me, this move would make the Lions the favorite to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

Green Bay Packers: Trade for WR Calvin Ridley

Proposed Trade: WR Calvin Ridley and a 2027 seventh-round pick for WR Malik Heath and a 2026 sixth-round pick

The Green Bay Packers are built to be very good for now and for the foreseeable future. Still, with Jayden Reed’s injury and Matthew Golden looking like he needs a little more time to develop at the highest level, getting someone like Calvin Ridley would be worthwhile in this offense, given that the acquisition cost should be pretty reasonable.

His contract isn’t guaranteed beyond this season, and if he plays to his potential, he is certainly worth the remaining salary; if not, he can try again in a new system. I am confident that a big-bodied, skilled wide receiver like this would play a significant role in this offense and help them make a push in the playoffs.

Houston Texans: Trade for RB Alvin Kamara

Proposed Trade: RB Alvin Kamara for a 2026 second-round pick

Proposed Trade: RB Nick Chubb for the Patriots’ 2026 sixth-round pick

With the Texans struggling to get the flow on offense going, one of the league’s best dual-threat backs could be on the move to get them going and help CJ Stroud get his swagger back. He has been the center of the Saints’ offense since the day he was drafted, and it would be awesome to get the stout defense some help on the offensive side of the ball sooner than later. This team has all the makings to go on a run if they get some help on offense.

Indianapolis Colts: Trade QB Anthony Richardson, Trade for CB Greg Newsome II

Proposed Trade: QB Anthony Richardson for the Cowboys’ third-round pick and the Dolphins’ 2027 fifth-round pick

Proposed Trade: CB Greg Newsome II for a 2026 fourth-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick

Daniel Jones has arrived in Indianapolis and taken the NFL by storm, bringing the Colts an unimaginable ray of light and hope for what they can be, and that they have their quarterback for both the present and the future.

That creates a complicated situation for young quarterback Anthony Richardson, who was outperformed by Jones — a standout in camp who also outplayed another talented passer. Several teams could benefit from Richardson’s skill set.

The team could use the cap space freed by this move to acquire a cornerback such as Greg Newsome II. Given the injuries at the position, adding another reliable option would help stabilize the secondary and allow for greater rotation among cornerbacks during a potential playoff run.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Trade for TE David Njoku

Proposed Trade: TE David Njoku for a 2026 fourth-round pick

This may not be a popular destination for Njoku on social media and in the rumor mill, but it seems like what Trevor Lawrence needs to regain his swagger. In terms of PFSN QBi rankings, Lawrence is currently in the midst of the worst season of his career since his rookie year in 2021, and you can tell he is missing having Evan Engram in his pocket, or even having a tight end of note.

The Jaguars are 3-1 despite his play, and getting him an extremely skilled tight end like Njoku will give the Jaguars the upside that they have tantalized with over the last few years. If Jerome Ford is not traded elsewhere, he could be a good get too in this deal if they move on from Etienne, but the primary focus would be getting Njoku in-house and watching this offense immediately flourish.

Kansas City Chiefs: Don’t Overreact, Trade for Nick Chubb

Proposed Trade: RB Nick Chubb for the Patriots’ 2026 sixth-round pick

The Kansas City Chiefs have taken a step backward as an offense under Matt Nagy, in terms of our PFSN OFFi ranking. In the five years with Eric Bieniemy, they never ranked below fourth in the NFL, and were the top-ranked offense twice. But this isn’t a reason to panic; it just means they need more veterans. It will be a massive addition when Pat Mahomes gets his top target, Rashee Rice, back from suspension.

I think having a healthy Nick Chubb in-house, where they don’t have to overuse him, would be a welcome addition, given his poise and experience. It worked well when he played with Kareem Hunt in Cleveland in the past, too, and to lead with three solid backs is something they have shown they are willing to do.

Las Vegas Raiders: Trade Jakobi Meyers

Proposed Trade: WR Jakobi Meyers for a 2026 fourth-round pick

This season was always going to be one of transition for the Raiders. The Raiders have stayed true to who they are, and part of that is leaning less on Jakobi Meyers than they have in recent history. With him requesting a trade in August, it is clear that it would do both sides good for the Raiders to get something for him at arguably the peak of his trade value. Geno Smith and Tre Tucker have a nice connection, and I think it doesn’t impact their trajectory at all to trade him.

Los Angeles Chargers: Trade for Jerome Ford and A.J. Brown

Proposed Trade: RB Jerome Ford for a 2027 sixth-round pick

Proposed Trade: WR A.J. Brown for WR Keandre Lambert-Smith and a 2026 second-round pick

The Chargers look as good as any team in the AFC right now, and if they patch their holes up and add a little more to their offense, they could hold this division lead wire to wire. I think A.J. Brown would get the usage he is looking for and give the Chargers a real chance to win every time out. They have a skilled wide receiver room, but bringing in someone with Brown’s skill set and championship pedigree would raise their game to another level.

With the rise of Quinshon Judkins, Jerome Ford becomes expendable for a team looking to give the young back more reps and have him be the bell cow for the Browns for years. With Najee Harris now injured and Omarion Hampton playing well in the passing game, it would be good to get another foot-in-the-ground type of runner to back him up and even get some work in the offense. Ford is the perfect guy for the job.

Los Angeles Rams: Trade for Jeffery Simmons

Proposed Trade: DT Jeffrey Simmons for a 2026 first-round pick, the Titans’ 2026 fifth-round pick, and a 2027 second-round pick

After the Rams’ loss to the 49ers, the Rams shouldn’t feel like they are out of contention by any means. They dominate when someone is wreaking havoc in the middle, and Jeffery Simmons could make this team a Super Bowl contender again. He is that good.

Using our PFSN DTi rankings, Simmons is the second-best defensive tackle in the NFL, with an 89.1 impact score, suitable for a B+ grade. His ability to do this with the amount of attention he gets bodes well for if anybody is to trade for him, and in this case, the Rams get their second coming of the great Aaron Donald.

Miami Dolphins: Get Rid of Expiring or Expensive Contracts and Trade RB Devon Achane

Proposed Trade: RB De’Von Achane for RB Roschon Johnson, a 2026 second-round pick, and a 2026 fourth-round pick

Proposed Trade: EDGE Jaelan Phillips for a 2026 fourth-round pick

For the Miami Dolphins, this season has been one of trying times and questionable flow on both sides of the ball, even before Tyreek Hill’s injury. Now that he is out for the season, many players on the team should be moved to make this a retooling year. Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb are the names that come to mind for them to get something for some of their more expensive assets.

On the other hand, Devon Achane is a prime asset on a rookie deal, and moving a guy like that could get you a nice return that could kickstart things back into place for next season. They should set their price high and not be desperate to move him, but if it is met, they have a player in Ollie Gordon who was once viewed as a first-round talent, and now the world is starting to see why.

Minnesota Vikings: Trade for OT Evan Neal and OT Trevor Penning

Proposed Trade: OT Evan Neal for a 2026 seventh-round pick

Proposed Trade: OT Trevor Penning and a 2028 seventh-round pick for the Panthers’ fifth-round pick

The Minnesota Vikings’ offensive line has struggled this season and could benefit from adding depth. Evan Neal and Trevor Penning are potential trade targets who might be available at a low cost and could still develop into the first-round caliber players they were projected to be. Neal appears to be the more realistic option, as the Giants have made him a healthy scratch in all four games, suggesting his acquisition cost would be minimal.

New England Patriots: Trade for LB DeMario Davis and LB Kyle Van Noy

Proposed Trade: LB DeMario Davis and a 2026 sixth-round pick for a 2026 fourth-round pick

Proposed Trade: LB Kyle Van Noy for a 2026 sixth-round pick

The New England Patriots are starting to look like a legitimate team in the AFC. With the offense growing by the week, it seems the defense could use some veteran know-how to help develop everyone around them and add some experience to the defense if they do go on a run and get into the playoffs as a Wild Card team.

Bringing in Saints LB DeMario Davis and reacquiring Ravens LB Kyle Van Noy would bring in players who play the game the right way, are still among the top performers in the game right now, and usher in a new generation of Patriots linebackers for years to come. Now is the time to take the chance, and the acquisition cost shouldn’t be too high, considering both teams are off to a slow start.

New Orleans Saints: Trade Anyone and Everyone

Proposed Trade: RB Alvin Kamara for a 2026 second-round pick

Proposed Trade: OT Trevor Penning and a 2028 seventh-round pick for the Panthers’ fifth-round pick

Proposed Trade: WR Chris Olave for WR Darius Slayton and a 2026 second-round pick

Proposed Trade: LB DeMario Davis and a 2026 sixth-round pick for a 2026 fourth-round pick

Proposed Trade: EDGE Cameron Jordan for a 2026 third-round pick

The Saints are committed to a rebuild, and Kellen Moore still has the boys playing hard, which you must respect. Look for some veterans to leave New Orleans and for Moore to look to bring in guys who match more with the style he intends to play there, and for this Saints team to get their quarterback in this draft and get better in the coming years, but for right now, tear it down and get all of the assets that you can towards the future. Not for too far out in the future, but some players could help other teams right now.

New York Giants: Trade for WR Chris Olave

Proposed Trade: WR Chris Olave for WR Darius Slayton and a 2026 second-round pick

After another tough loss for the Giants, it may be time to turn the page to next season after a tough start. The Russell Wilson experiment was a failure, Malik Nabers is out for the season, and now, at least, Jaxson Dart is showing flashes of what will come for them at quarterback. But, without Nabers, he is working with arguably the worst wide-receiver corps in the entire NFL, and bringing in a player like Chris Olave would help address that issue.

The financial investment for this season would be minimal, which is why it makes sense to make this move even while rebuilding. It would also allow Dart and Olave to build their real-time connection. Then, when the 2026-27 season comes around, the Giants will suddenly be loaded on offense, able to focus on adding the finishing touches to their secondary and offensive line, and be positioned to make a run.

New York Jets: Trade RB Breece Hall and OG Alijah Vera-Tucker

Proposed Trade: RB Breece Hall and the Browns’ 2026 seventh-round pick for the Texans’ 2026 fourth-round pick

Proposed Trade: OG Alijah Vera-Tucker for a 2026 fourth-round pick

After another tough loss, the Jets fall to 0-5, and some changes must be made. The core is locked up, so they must pull the right strings to get this thing. Unfortunately, the losing culture is in full effect, and they should consider selling off some pieces with expiring contracts to maximize their picks for the offseason and help shape what the 2026-27 season looks like.

They never committed to Breece Hall as the standalone starter at running back this season, which led me to believe they have felt that he will not return, so trading him could be the key move that helps kick this thing into gear.

Philadelphia Eagles: Trade WR A.J. Brown

Proposed Trade: WR A.J. Brown for WR Keandre Lambert-Smith and a 2026 second-round pick

Even after a close loss to the Broncos, things are good in Philly; they are 4-1 and have their eyes on another deep playoff run, so what could go wrong? WR A.J. Brown has never been shy about discussing when there is a problem, and the last thing that this team needs is controversy holding them back.

Additionally, if the targets are down, perhaps a better stylistic fit could emerge and make an impact as well. I am not judging Brown, as I am not in the locker room, but it seems like a change of scenery would do everyone involved well at this point.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Trade for WR Jakobi Meyers and QB Anthony Richardson

Proposed Trade: WR Jakobi Meyers for a 2026 fourth-round pick

Proposed Trade: QB Anthony Richardson for the Cowboys’ third-round pick and the Dolphins’ 2027 fifth-round pick

Things are looking good for the Steelers in a surprisingly weak AFC North, and now is the time to take advantage of the teams around them faltering. They have demonstrated a willingness to make a move by acquiring CB Jalen Ramsey this offseason.

Aaron Rodgers’ short passing scheme is working very well, and bringing in WR Jakobi Meyers, who seems to have fallen out of favor in Las Vegas after requesting a trade, seems like a great fit. He had a great season last year and was by far the top receiving option on the team, so he is accustomed to that attention. But playing next to DK Metcalf could elevate his game to a level we haven’t seen before.

Anthony Richardson to Pittsburgh is a dream scenario for both sides. I see Richardson as a modern-day version of Ben Roethlisberger. While he may not reach his full potential or ever get that high, he is a big-bodied quarterback who can make any throw and adds a running dynamic that can make the Steelers really hard to defend against.

The Colts have moved on, and Richardson learning from Rodgers would be great for his development. With no heir to the throne, the time is right now to secure both your now and your future if you are in Pittsburgh.

San Francisco 49ers: Trade for EDGE Cameron Jordan and WR Xavier Legette

Proposed Trade: EDGE Cameron Jordan for a 2026 third-round pick

Proposed Trade: WR Xavier Legette for a 2027 fourth-round pick

After a gritty win against their division rival Rams, the 49ers are here, and once they get rolling, it is tough to stop. With the loss of Nick Bosa for the year, they have a hole at what was once one of their safest positions. I think bringing in a veteran like Cameron Jordan, who has played at an elite level for a very long time and is also hungry to win a Super Bowl before he retires, would be great for the 49ers’ chances of winning the division that they currently lead and making a playoff run.

Another player who could help San Francisco is WR Xavier Legette. After one year, the Panthers felt it necessary to draft another wide receiver, Tet McMillan, in the first round and bring Legette’s usage down. Having a guy with Legette’s size and skill set would be a change of pace for San Francisco, and with how banged up they always seem at wide receiver, it looks like a great idea to add some depth.

Seattle Seahawks: Trade for OG Alijah Vera-Tucker

Proposed Trade: OG Alijah Vera-Tucker for a 2026 fourth-round pick

The Seattle Seahawks lost a nailbiter in Tampa Bay this week, and they shouldn’t feel down. Mike Macdonald has brought the grit he coached the Baltimore defense with for years to this whole Seattle team, and it shows in how hard they play each down. One area that they could stand to improve is their offensive line.

According to PFSN OLi rankings, the team ranks 22nd in the NFL with a grade of 66.1, resulting in a D grade. They need to address this if they want to take the next step. Their two best-graded linemen are their tackles and the three guards; that’s where Alijah Vera-Tucker comes in. Vera-Tucker has been one of the bright spots on this Jets team, and they really have no reason to keep him around if Seattle makes a firm offer for him.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Trade for TE Mark Andrews

Proposed Trade: TE Mark Andrews for a 2027 fourth-round pick

Tight end is one of the few weaknesses for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Their top tight end, Cade Otton, ranks 34th on our PFSN TEi Rankings, and that is after his first good game of the year. He is a good option to have as a backup, but they can do better. With the Ravens’ season not going according to plan and Mark Andrews being on an expiring contract, it would be silly for them not to entertain this deal with Tampa.

Andrews is the 17th-best tight end in the NFL, despite having the lowest grade of his career so far. Is he regressing, or is the Baltimore offense not running efficiently? Given the results so far, I am going with the latter.

Nobody would be happier than Tampa Bay QB Baker Mayfield. Andrews was Mayfield’s college teammate, and they are best friends. Andrews was even a groomsman at Mayfield’s wedding. To acquire someone with that sort of connection in a position of desperate need would unlock a whole new level for an already impressive Tampa Bay offense.

Tennessee Titans: Trade DT Jeffrey Simmons and Veteran WR

Proposed Trade: DT Jeffrey Simmons for a 2026 first-round pick, the Titans’ 2026 fifth-round pick, and a 2027 second-round pick

Proposed Trade: WR Tyler Lockett and a 2028 seventh-round pick for the Eagles’ 2026 sixth-round pick

Proposed Trade: WR Calvin Ridley and a 2027 seventh-round pick for WR Malik Heath and a 2026 sixth-round pick

We all knew what this year would be for the Titans, and with an impressive comeback this week, they showed flashes of what they are capable of. Cam Ward made some nice plays, and the defense showed their tenacity. Even after that, Jeffrey Simmons should be traded now to speed up the rebuild. Simmons is among the best players in the entire NFL and would yield a massive haul, possibly including a few young players alongside draft picks. A trade of Simmons could change the scope of the postseason entirely.

The Titans should also consider trading Tyler Lockett, as they aren’t utilizing him, and he doesn’t appear to be a good fit for this rebuild. Getting a pick for him is possible, as contenders will value his playoff experience and hope they can get another good season out of him.

Washington Commanders: Trade for RB Breece Hall

Proposed Trade: RB Breece Hall and the Browns’ 2026 seventh-round pick for the Texans’ 2026 fourth-round pick

The Washington Commanders have found a gem in Jacory Croskey-Merritt. With Austin Ekeler out for the season, they don’t have much experience behind him, so they should consider a move. Along with his knowledge, bringing in Breece Hall from the Jets brings a whole new dynamic to the offense, as Croskey-Merritt isn’t used in the passing game much, whereas Hall can be strong in all facets of the game.

Having a two-headed monster like this will both lower the workload of Croskey-Merritt and bring a hungry player with free agency looming to get his first taste of playoff football. Hall takes this offense to a level that can help them execute even more consistently, and make them a real threat to the Eagles’ hold on the division crown.
