Brees is being etched into the history of football with his induction to the Hall of Fame. Today, he earns the gold jacket that so many NFL players never have the privilege to own.
But before he earned his own, last night he was surrounded by NFL legends with their gold jackets and shook hands with many of them in a surreal moment. It’s an emotional moment for Brees and many others, even members of the NFL world.

Brees may not have been with the Saints his whole career, but he’s synonymous with New Orleans and came in a time when the city needed someone to believe in. His impact with the Saints extends beyond his elite on-field performance, as shown by the emotional tributes he’s receiving.

The emotions are running high for everyone on such a special day for five NFL legends and their families, but the NFL world feels like family, too.

This wasn’t an isolated sentiment, either, as others expressed themselves, tearing up at Brees’ special moment.
“I was tearing up watching this,” said Dylan Federico, a New Orleans native and meteorologist.
It’s impossible to measure what Brees has done for the city of New Orleans. He brought them a championship, and the city is forever indebted to his contribution. They’ll have to wait until the end of the ceremony to hear their hero speak.
Brees is set to close out the Hall of Fame ceremony and give his speech last. Until then, they’ll celebrate all the other special moments the legendary quarterback has had leading up to this special day.
