Chiefs Superstar Makes Bold Guarantee During Seahawks-Patriots Super Bowl 60 Matchup

After a disappointing season, confidence in Kansas City has not faded, with belief already building around a Super Bowl return next year.

For the first time in three seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs aren’t playing in the Super Bowl. In Super Bowl 60, it is the New England Patriots face the Seattle Seahawks.

Despite the team suffering many losses this season, including an ACL injury to Pat Mahomes, one Chiefs superstar claims the team will be back in the Super Bowl next season, despite all odds.

Kansas City Chiefs Defender Talks Big for Next Year’s Super Bowl

One of the faces of the Chiefs, and their most prominent defender, is defensive tackle Chris Jones. He was drafted with the No. 37 overall pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, so he’s seen a lot of success. Specifically, he is a three-time Super Bowl champion. Even though the Chiefs missed the playoffs, Jones said the following about next season:

“Took a year off, we will be back to it next year!”

Despite their 6-11 record, the Chiefs were still in the upper half of the league defensively. In PFSN’s NFL Defensive Impact Metric, they finished ranked No. 11 with an impact score of 79.4 and a letter grade of C+.

The same could not be said for the team’s offense. In PFSN’s NFL Offensive Impact Metrics, the Chiefs ranked No. 17 in the league with an impact score of 74.3 and a letter grade of C.

Since entering the league, Jones has consistently been one of the top defensive tackles in the NFL, and it is no surprise that he is the highest-paid interior defensive lineman in the league. The total value of his contract is $158,750,000, and his average annual salary is $31,750,000.
