Former Pro Bowl Quarterback Suggests Tyreek Hill Could Stay in the AFC East

Hill should have a lot of interest from contending teams, considering it is the first time in his career that he’s a free agent. Former Pro Bowl quarterback turned NFL analyst suggests that one AFC contender should make a bid to sign the veteran wide receiver.

He posted the following on social media: “The New England Patriots need to sign Tyreek Hill. Drake Maye was the best deep ball thrower in football this year. If Tyreek Hill gets back to 90% of what he was, the Patriots get a massive mismatch chess piece on their board.”

During the 2022 offseason, the Dolphins acquired Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for several high draft picks. Additionally, they signed Hill to a long-term deal.

During his time with both teams, he has consistently been among the league’s best wide receivers, despite a little regression in 2024 and a season-ending injury in 2025. In his career, he’s caught 819 receptions on 1201 targets for 11363 receiving yards and 83 touchdowns. Additionally, he’s rushed 114 times for 819 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns, as well as 5 kick return touchdowns from punts (4) and kickoffs (1).

His best season came with the Dolphins in 2023. That year, he was the highest graded player in PFSN’s Wide Receiver Impact Metric (WRi) since 2019. He had an impact score of 99.6 and a letter grade of A+ and was obviously the top wide receiver in the league. That season, he caught 119 receptions for 1799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.

Adding Hill to the already great New England Patriots’ offense would take them to another level. In PFSN’s Offensive Impact Metric (OFFi), they ranked as the second-best offense with an impact score of 86.6 and a letter grade of B.

He’d also be playing with one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and an MVP finalist in only his second year. In PFSN’s QB Impact Metric (QBi), Maye ranked as the second-best quarterback with an impact score of 91.1 and a letter grade of A-.
