Louisiana Tech vs. Kennesaw State Head-to-Head Record
Pick a sport, almost any sport, and Louisiana Tech vs. Kennesaw State has a page in the annals of head-to-head history. Softball? Tick. Basketball? Tick. I didn’t even research pickleball, but hell, I bet they played each other at it. They met on the football field for the first time last fall, and it did not end well for the Owls, succumbing to a 33-0 shellacking on the road to end the year.

Louisiana Tech vs. Kennesaw State Prediction
Put your hands up if, entering the midway point of the season, you would have had Louisiana Tech and Kennesaw State as two teams with undefeated CUSA records that are pushing the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers as the top teams in the conference? Put your hands down, you’re a liar.
Louisiana Tech is 4-1 with two CUSA wins, while Kennesaw State is 3-2 with three consecutive victories, including a conference win over the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. Someone has to lose their undefeated CUSA record when the two clash on Thursday night, but which one is it?
We’ve already seen from the opening two Weekday CUSA contests in Week 7, that, where there have been offensive struggles this season, the team with the best defense has managed to exert its dominance and come away with the win, and although both teams have scored over 24 points in each of their last three games, there have been some issues this fall.
Heading into this matchup, Louisiana Tech has averaged 1.7 points per drive, slightly shading Kennesaw State’s 1.67 points per drive. The Owls have ripped off more yards per play, but haven’t been able to consistently make that count, and also have one of the worst turnover margin in CUSA (10th).
That’s not great when you’re facing a team that makes a living from taking the ball away. No team in CUSA comes close to Louisiana Tech’s 11 interceptions (17.6% turnover rate). At the same time, they’ve done a good job of playing turnover-free football on offense, utilizing tight end Eli Finley as a safety net and dangerous receiving weapon.
Kennesaw State has some exciting offensive playmakers, led by quarterback Omari Odom, but the Owls will likely have their wings clipped by this ferocious Bulldogs defense. Watch out for safety Jakari Foster and linebacker Mekhi Mason to do the damage defensively, as Louisiana Tech heads out of Georgia with a win and a 5-1 start to the year.
Prediction: Louisiana Tech 20, Kennesaw State 13
