When Is the 2025 NFL Trade Deadline?

The NFL trade deadline for the 2025 season is set for Tuesday, November 4, at 4:00 p.m. ET. Once the clock hits 4:00, teams can no longer make deals, so the hours leading up to the deadline are when fans can expect the most action.

The trade deadline serves various purposes for NFL teams, depending on their outlook for the rest of the season. Teams performing well and gearing up for a playoff push may look to acquire a key player they believe can put them over the top.

Meanwhile, teams that have fallen short of expectations often use the deadline to move veteran talent and collect draft capital as they shift focus toward next season.

Some years, there’s little to no movement at the trade deadline, while in others, some of the league’s biggest names are traded. The 2025 deadline is shaping up to feature a decent amount of action. Here are the latest rumors surrounding this year’s trade deadline.

What Are Some Trade Rumors Heading Into the 2025 NFL Trade Deadline?

1) The Jets Could Trade Breece Hall

The New York Jets have had a disastrous 2025 season, sitting at 1-7 through eight games. With their struggles, it appears the organization is heading toward yet another rebuild, and as a result, star running back Breece Hall has surfaced in trade rumors.

Hall ranks fifth among NFL running backs this season according to PFSN’s RBi metric, making him an attractive target for contending teams across the league.

2) The Browns May Move David Njoku

The Cleveland Browns have also struggled in 2025, sitting at 2-6 through eight games. They’re expected to be sellers at the trade deadline, and one name that has surfaced in rumors is tight end David Njoku.

The Browns drafted Harold Fannin Jr. in the 2025 NFL Draft, and he’s outperformed Njoku this season, ranking 14th among NFL tight ends in PFSN’s TEi metric, while Njoku ranks 36th. It’s not a guarantee that Cleveland will move Njoku, but for the right offer, it could happen.

3) The Saints Have Made Cesar Ruiz Available

The New Orleans Saints are another team expected to be sellers at the trade deadline, and while nearly anyone on their roster could be made available, starting guard Cesar Ruiz is reportedly on the block.

Ruiz was the Saints’ first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft but hasn’t quite lived up to expectations. He ranks just 40th among NFL guards this season according to PFSN’s OLi metric, but a team in need of an offensive line upgrade could still make a move for him.
