Top Remaining Free Agent WRs: Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill Among Best Available Receivers After Jauan Jennings Signs

While many of the top NFL free agents have found new homes, there are still quite a few veteran wide receivers who are available.

The 2026 NFL Draft is behind us, which means teams are once again turning to the free-agency pool to address their biggest needs.

While it’s been nearly two months since the NFL’s free-agency period got underway, there are actually quite a few notable players who are still available. Wide receiver is the deepest remaining position, as there are some big names on the market who can still help a team.

Stefon Diggs, WR

2025 Team: New England Patriots

Stefon Diggs was released by the New England Patriots a week before free agency, and there are some off-field concerns for the veteran wide receiver. He was just in the midst of an assault trial, but he was ultimately found not guilty. Now that this is behind him, perhaps he can find a team.

On the field, Diggs is still playing at an extremely high level. Last season, he was the fourth-best receiver in the NFL in PFSN’s WR Impact Score despite coming off a torn ACL. Diggs is still super talented, so a WR-needy team will surely give him a shot.

Potential Landing Spots: Titans, Commanders, 49ers

Deebo Samuel Sr., WR

2025 Team: Washington Commanders

After seven years with the 49ers, Deebo Samuel Sr. was traded to the Washington Commanders in 2025. He wasn’t the bona fide WR1 he used to be, but he still improved his numbers compared to 2024, catching 72 passes for 727 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Statistically, Samuel’s best days are behind him. A creative offense can still weaponize him as a versatile Swiss Army knife with his backfield capabilities, making him a potential low-risk, high-reward type of receiver.

Potential Landing Spots: Commanders, Chiefs, Patriots

Tyreek Hill, WR

2025 Team: Miami Dolphins

Having been released by the Dolphins, Tyreek Hill now finds himself an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his illustrious career. At 32 years old with declining numbers, coming off a season-ending injury, and having the risk of issues coming up off the field, he is a risky player to sign to a multi-year contract.

However, in the four games he played before getting hurt, Hill was on a 17-game pace for 1,127 receiving yards. He was a first-team All-Pro and came in second for Offensive Player of the Year voting in 2023. A competing team could look to lure him on a one-year deal to see if he can get them over the hump.

Potential Landing Spots: Chiefs, Commanders, Patriots

Brandon Aiyk, WR

2025 Team: San Francisco 49ers

To be clear, Brandon Aiyuk is still under contract with the San Francisco 49ers. However, all signs point to Aiyuk eventually getting released. He has had no contact with the Niners, the relationship seems irreparable, and a trade seems very unlikely.

Aiyuk played only 7 games in 2024 and missed the entire 2025 season. What level of production he’d bring to a team at this point is anyone’s guess, but it’s worth noting that in 2023, he was a second-team All-Pro with 1,342 receiving yards in his last healthy season. Those highs should give him a starting shot wherever he ends up next.
