How Texans Star Nico Collins Secured $250,000 Bonus Despite Houston’s Underwhelming Offensive Campaign

The Houston Texans are one of the hottest teams in the league, and now Nico Collins gets to enjoy a bonus after Tuesday's announcement.

The Houston Texans have been one of the hottest teams in the NFL over the last couple of months. The team has now won seven games in a row after beating the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 16.

One of the key contributors for the Texans is star wide receiver Nico Collins. Collins has evolved into a true No. 1 receiver and recently secured a substantial bonus thanks to his outstanding play in 2025.

Nico Collins Earns $250,000 Bonus for Making Pro Bowl

In 2025, Collins played in 14 games, catching 68 passes for 1,060 yards and six touchdowns. The veteran leads the Texans in yards and receiving touchdowns on the season.

On Tuesday, the NFL announced the rosters for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games. Collins was selected as one of the AFC receivers and now has his second consecutive Pro Bowl selection.

As a result, the receiver will earn a $250,000 bonus as an incentive in his contract.

This means Collins’ total compensation for the 2025 season will now be over $14.3 million. In 2024, the receiver earned just over $19 million thanks to a three-year, $75 million extension he signed.

That deal seems like a bargain considering how well Collins has been playing. PFSN’s WR Impact ranking gives Collins an 84.4 grade for his 2025 performance, which ranks 13th out of 92 qualified receivers and is easily the best grade among Texans’ receivers.

Collins entered the league in 2021. In his first two seasons, he was mainly just a depth receiver option. The veteran broke out in 2023, though, and had his first 1,000-yard season.

Now, Collins has surpassed 1,000 yards in three straight seasons and has earned back-to-back Pro Bowl selections.

Texans Fighting to Win the AFC South with Two Games Remaining

As mentioned above, arguably no team is hotter than the Texans. The team has won seven games in a row, starting in Week 10, after beginning the season 0-3.

PFSN’s Football Playoff Meter gives the team a 96.3% chance to make the playoffs and a 24.1% chance to win the AFC South. The Jaguars are in first place in the division with an 11-4 record, and the two teams have already split the season series.

The Texans will play against the Los Angeles Chargers and Indianapolis Colts to conclude the season, while the Jaguars will end with games against the Colts and Tennessee Titans. If the Jaguars lose both and the Texans win both, the Texans would be the AFC South champions.
