The 2025 NFL trade deadline is just hours away, with the cutoff set for today, Nov. 4, at 4:00 p.m. ET. Teams across the league are looking to bolster their rosters for the second half of the season, and rumors are swirling about potential deals, including an AFC Super Bowl contender being linked to Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

Which AFC Super Bowl Contender Was Named as a Landing Spot for Jalyen Waddle?
It’s fair to say the Dolphins’ 2025 season is essentially over. Through nine weeks, Miami sits at 2-7 and is heading toward a rebuild that will likely involve overhauling much of its roster.
The Dolphins have already been active as sellers ahead of the trade deadline, sending star pass rusher Jalen Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles. Rumors now suggest they’re open to deals for Waddle as well.
The question is: Which teams could land Waddle? “Rickey Scoops” reported on X that the Denver Broncos, who are looking like a Super Bowl contender out of the AFC, could be a team to watch. He explained that a deal for Waddle would be the Broncos’ “holy crap” move, but one that’s still possible.
I believe the #Broncos holy crap move would be trading for Waddle. Can penguins handle the high altitude? #BroncosCountry #PhinsUp https://t.co/biYyHNkKAe pic.twitter.com/Qg7HygqNf8

It would be a stretch to call “Rickey Scoops” a reliable source, as he doesn’t have the same credentials as Adam Schefter or Ian Rapoport, but he has been accurate in the past. He was the first to report the Packers’ trade for Micah Parsons back in August.
If the report holds any weight, it would be a major move for Denver. The Broncos’ offense has been their weak point this season, ranking 15th in the NFL according to PFSN’s OFFi metric.
At wide receiver, Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin are Denver’s top options, with Sutton ranking 24th and Franklin 46th among NFL wideouts in PFSN’s WRi metric.
Waddle has been a bright spot on a struggling Dolphins team, ranking 10th in the league in the same metric. With sub-4.4 speed, he would bring an explosive element to Denver’s offense that their current weapons simply don’t provide.
Broncos head coach Sean Payton is always looking for ways to improve his roster and has never shied away from being aggressive.
Trading for a player of Waddle’s caliber would undoubtedly cost Denver some draft capital, but with a 7-2 record, they’re in a prime position to win the AFC West and make a deep playoff run. Waddle could be the piece that pushes them over the edge.

Again, a report from “Rickey Scoops” could amount to nothing, but a Broncos trade for Waddle is definitely a storyline to watch as the deadline approaches.
