Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season has wrapped up. For some quarterbacks, it was a chance to rebound after a slow start to the season. Others kept their momentum going with another strong outing in Week 1. Then, there are a few who fell back down to Earth after starting hot last week. A handful of players delivered stellar performances, as reflected in our metrics.
PFSN has you covered with your QB rankings for the 2025 season, as our QBi metric puts a numerical value on how each back performs every week. Keep in mind that these rankings are based solely on the opening week, not the entire season. Some consensus top quarterbacks may rank lower than usual, while a few surprise names appear in the top ten. With Week 3 in the rearview mirror, let’s rank the top 37 quarterbacks in the NFL after one week of play.
37) Jake Browning, Cincinnati Bengals
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 44.3 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 27
Sunday proved to be a disastrous outing for both Jake Browning and the Cincinnati Bengals as a whole. Their 48-10 loss to the Vikings was an embarrassment on both sides of the ball, and a lackluster passing attack didn’t help them out at all.
To be polite, Week 3 was a performance Browning would likely wish to forget. He threw for just 140 passing yards, having been sacked three times and intercepted twice with one passing touchdown. With an EPA per pressured dropback of -1.19, he currently fares as the least-efficient QB in the league under duress.
36) Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 52.2 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 34
The good news for Cam Ward: he’s no longer the holder of the worst QBi grade in the NFL. The bad news: he still heads out of Week 3 with the second-worst grade in the league, and he still has the lowest grade among players who began the season as their respective team’s starting quarterback.
Ward’s 4.1 net yards per attempt is the lowest average in the NFL through the first three weeks of the season. He’s the most-sacked QB in the league with 15 sacks to begin the year, and his 54.5% completion percentage is also the lowest in the league.
35) J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 54.1 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 33
J.J. McCarthy missed Week 3 due to an ankle sprain. His QBi grade doesn’t change this week. However, it’s worth noting the Minnesota Vikings put up 48 points on Sunday in his absence, so they likely aren’t in any hurry to rush his recovery back from injury.
34) Joe Flacco, Cleveland Browns
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 57.5 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 32
The Cleveland Browns stunned the world when they upset the Packers in Week 3 to pick up their first win of the 2025 season. Though Joe Flacco deserves credit for helping get his team in position to score 13 points in the fourth quarter, it’s clear he wasn’t the catalyst for their comeback victory.

In each of his last two games, Flacco has thrown an interception and has completed fewer than 60% of his passing attempts. He also didn’t throw a touchdown on Sunday, contributing to a 55.6 passer rating that’s been his lowest to date this season.
33) C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 59.9
Last Week’s Ranking: 28
To the surprise of many, the Houston Texans find themselves with a 0-3 record to start the new season. There are several factors contributing to their slow start, but their lackluster offense stands head and shoulders above the rest. A lot of that comes down to the poor play of C.J. Stroud.
Of the quarterbacks who have played in all three games this season, Stroud’s third-down conversion rate of 25.0% is the worst in the league. He also has more interceptions than passing touchdowns (three to two, respectively), which generally isn’t a good formula for winning QB play in the NFL.
32) Tyrod Taylor, New York Jets
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 60.0 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: N/R
The New York Jets fell to 0-3 with a tight loss to the Buccaneers in Week 3. Tyrod Taylor stepped in as their starting quarterback, and while he did enough to keep his team’s head above water, he didn’t exactly light the world on fire.
Taylor threw for just 197 passing yards, was sacked four times, and gave up an interception against Tampa Bay. It wasn’t all bad for him, though; he also threw two touchdown passes and completed 72.2% of his passing attempts.
31) Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 61.8 (D-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 30
All things considered, Bryce Young wasn’t outstanding for the Carolina Panthers in their Week 3 matchup against the Falcons. However, seeing how poorly Michael Penix Jr. performed on the other end made him look much better in comparison, and that was a key difference that contributed to Carolina’s emphatic 30-0 victory.
Of the quarterbacks who have played in all three games this year, only Flacco and Ward have a lower net yards per attempt average than Young’s 4.9 mark. The 2023 first overall pick didn’t throw any touchdowns on Sunday, but he also didn’t turn the ball over and ran for a touchdown.
30) Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 63.9 (D)
Last Week’s Ranking: 29
Jayden Daniels missed Week 3 due to a knee injury he suffered the week before. His QBi grade remains the same, while he drops a spot in the rankings due to movement elsewhere at the quarterback position.
29) Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta Falcons
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 64.0 (D)
Last Week’s Ranking: 20
Given the immense talent on every offense in the NFL, getting shut out in a game can be a jarring feat. That’s what happened to Michael Penix and the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, and their poor passing attack played a significant role in that.
Penix threw two interceptions and completed just 18 of his 36 passing attempts in Week 3. That, along with the absence of any scoring plays, gave him a brutal 40.5 passer rating for the afternoon. For reference, if a quarterback were to spike the ball on every play, their passer rating would be 39.6.
28) Russell Wilson, New York Giants
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 65.5 (D)
Last Week’s Ranking: 16
It’s been a rollercoaster season for Russell Wilson in his first year with the New York Giants. From Week 1 to Week 2, he rose 13 spots in PFSN’s QBi rankings. From Week 2 to Week 3, though, he drops back down 12 spots. That speaks volumes about his inconsistency in the early stages of 2025.
Combining third and fourth downs, Wilson has the third-lowest conversion rate among full-time starters at 28.9%. He’s seventh in the league with 778 passing yards, but he’s also 27th in completion percentage and has as many passing touchdowns as he does interceptions.
27) Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 66.4 (D)
Last Week’s Ranking: 22
Trevor Lawrence has been slow out of the gate in 2025, but the Jacksonville Jaguars still find themselves at 2-1 after their win over the Texans on Sunday. It’s encouraging to think of what their ceiling could become if Lawrence ends up putting it all together later in the season.
It’s a pretty low bar that he’s been setting for the remainder of his season, to be fair. His 55.8% completion percentage is the second-worst among QBs, trailing only Cam Ward. Lawrence is tenth in the league with 671 passing yards, but he’s also tied for the second-highest interception total in the NFL with four through three weeks.
26) Spencer Rattler, New Orleans Saints
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 69.2 (D+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 19
After two nail-biting losses to start the new year, the New Orleans Saints regressed significantly in Week 3, getting blown out by the Seahawks 44-13 on Sunday. Through nine games as their starting quarterback over the last two years, Spencer Rattler has yet to win a game.
Rattler has hardly been terrible as the Saints’ starter, but he isn’t doing much to elevate the team, either. His 639 passing yards, four touchdowns, and one interception are respectable enough through three weeks. That said, he ranks in the bottom ten in both net yards per attempt and third-down conversion percentage.
25) Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 69.5 (D+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 26
Due to Joe Burrow’s turf toe injury, it’s expected that the Cincinnati Bengals’ star quarterback will be out of action for the next three months. He missed Week 3 as a result.
24) Bo Nix, Denver Broncos
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 70.3 (C-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 25
Bo Nix put together an impressive rookie campaign last year, especially in the second half of the season. Through the first three games of 2025, though, he hasn’t been able to build off of that momentum and further continue his development.
At 5.5 net yards per attempt, Nix has the sixth-lowest average among QBs who have started in all three games this season. For that same availability criterion, he also has the third-fewest passing yards of the bunch.
23) Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 72.8 (C-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 21
If there’s one thing Mike Tomlin knows how to do, it’s win games in the regular season. That bodes extremely well for the Pittsburgh Steelers, especially in performances like Sunday, where Aaron Rodgers didn’t put his best outing on the field.
Rodgers is tied for the worst third-down conversion percentage with C.J. Stroud among full-time starting QBs at just 25.0%. He also has the lowest EPA average per dropback under pressure. However, he’s tied for the second-most scores in the league with seven passing touchdowns, so the big-play ability is still there.
22) Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 73.6 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 12
Before they gave up a 19-point lead to the Eagles, things were looking good for the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Admittedly, more of that came down to the run game and a strong defensive first half, rather than elite play from Matthew Stafford at quarterback.
Against the Eagles, Stafford threw two passing touchdowns but also threw an interception, his second in three games. He also completed just 57.6% of his passing attempts on Sunday, limiting the Rams’ ability to keep drives moving consistently with completed passes.
21) Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 74.1 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 31
Last week’s rankings indicated that Sam Darnold’s start with the Seattle Seahawks as the new quarterback has been slow. However, a tremendous bounce-back performance against the Saints sees him rise ten spots in PFSN’s QBi rankings.
Darnold’s first two games both saw his passer rating fall below the 90.0 mark, but it skyrocketed up to 154.2 in Week 3. He completed 14 of his 18 passes for 218 yards and two touchdowns, giving him a substantial 77.8% completion percentage and a stellar average of 12.1 yards per attempt.
20) Justin Fields, New York Jets
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 74.6 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 17
Justin Fields missed Week 3 due to a concussion he suffered the previous week. His QBi grade remains the same, but he has been pushed down three spots in the rankings due to movement around him.
19) Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 74.7 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 18
The Kansas City Chiefs avoided a 0-3 start with a Sunday night victory over the Giants. It wasn’t a flawless performance by Patrick Mahomes, but he did enough to help his offense capitalize on the mistakes that New York’s offense made.
Through three games, Mahomes doesn’t rank in the top ten in EPA per dropback, third-down conversion rate, net yards per attempt, or EPA per dropback in a clean pocket. However, he doesn’t rank in the bottom ten in any of those categories, either. It’s been an average season thus far, which makes it a below-average season by his standards.
18) Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 75.3 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 23
Coming out of Week 3 with a 0-3 record, things aren’t exactly sunny for the Miami Dolphins after their Thursday night loss to the Bills. On the bright side, though, Tua Tagovailoa showed some progress after a milquetoast beginning to the season.
With an EPA per dropback of precisely zero, Tagovailoa has evened out to being neither a positive nor a negative for Miami’s offense this year. He’s thrown five touchdowns to four interceptions, but his 69.7% completion percentage has been substantial to start the season.
17) Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 75.3 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 13
Dak Prescott came away from Sunday’s loss to the Bears with a 77.5% completion percentage and 251 passing yards. He made some good throws with CeeDee Lamb injured, but throwing two interceptions isn’t going to help his case in PFSN’s QBi grading.
After Sunday, Prescott is one of ten quarterbacks with a TD:INT ratio that’s dead even or worse. His 71.4% completion percentage has been stellar to this point, but the lack of converting those completions into scoring opportunities ranks him in the bottom half of the NFL with an 86.1 passer rating.
16) Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 75.9 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 14
The Arizona Cardinals’ loss to the 49ers on Sunday was a low-scoring affair, which means it makes sense to see Kyler Murray drop slightly in the rankings. But he was hardly terrible, and he wasn’t the only reason they lost in Week 3.
Murray still ranks 11th in EPA per dropback after Sunday, and he’s only thrown one interception through his first three games. He doesn’t stand out as elite in any analytical category, but his numbers range from average to slightly above-average across the board.
15) Carson Wentz, Minnesota Vikings
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 77.2 (C+)
Last Week’s Ranking: N/R
In a matchup between two backup quarterbacks, you’d be hard-pressed to find somebody who expected there would be a 48-point performance like what the Minnesota Vikings had under Carson Wentz on Sunday. Granted, he wasn’t the only reason they pummeled the Bengals, but he certainly helped the cause.
Wentz completed 14 of his 20 passing attempts in relief for J.J. McCarthy in Week 3, throwing for 173 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. His 129.8 passer rating trails just Lamar Jackson league-wide to begin the season.
14) Geno Smith, Las Vegas Raiders
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 77.5 (C+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 7
A disastrous Week 2 performance factored into Geno Smith’s dropping out of the top 10, but his Week 3 outing in the Las Vegas Raiders’ loss to the Commanders was hardly an issue; he ended the game with 289 passing yards and three touchdowns.
With 831 passing yards, Geno Smith ranks second in the NFL in passing yards through three weeks. Scoring three touchdowns and avoiding any interceptions practically cancels out his awful Week 2 outing, in which he threw three interceptions and no touchdowns.
13) Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 79.6 (C+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 15
The Philadelphia Eagles remain undefeated to start the 2025 season, picking up victories against three solid teams in a row. Jalen Hurts was a key component in their win on Sunday over the Rams, as he scored four total touchdowns from scrimmage in Week 3.
Hurts has 479 passing yards this year, which is the fewest among all quarterbacks who have started all three games. However, he ranks fourth with a 52.4% combined conversion percentage on third and fourth downs, and he has seven touchdowns from scrimmage with no interceptions. He’s been a strong game manager with added athletic value this year.
12) Drake Maye, New England Patriots
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 79.7 (C+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 11
With a 1-2 start to the season, the New England Patriots are hardly setting the league ablaze with their dominant play thus far. One of the most encouraging things, however, is the start that second-year quarterback Drake Maye has gotten off to this season.
To kick off the year, Maye ranks in the top ten in EPA per dropback, combined third- and fourth-down conversion rate, and EPA per dropback in a clean pocket. He has an impressive 72.6% completion percentage, and his 785 passing yards rank fifth in the NFL.
11) Mac Jones, San Francisco 49ers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 80.0 (C+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 10
In his second start in relief of Brock Purdy as the San Francisco 49ers’ starting quarterback, Mac Jones maintained the momentum he built up in Week 2, still finishing with a top-12 QBi grade to begin the season.
Jones’ touchdown totals fell from three the week before to just one in Week 3, and he added an interception into the mix, as well. But he threw for 284 yards and completed 65.9% of his passes,
10) Marcus Mariota, Washington Commanders
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 81.3 (B-)
Last Week’s Ranking: N/R
The Washington Commanders put together a nearly well-rounded performance in their win over the Raiders on Sunday. Their coverage was suspect, but their pass rush was strong; their run defense was tremendous, and their own ground game on offense was unstoppable. The passing attack fared well, even with second-stringer Marcus Mariota in a starting role.
In a matchup against one of his former teams, Mariota finished in Week 3 with 207 passing yards, a 71.4% completion percentage, 40 rushing yards on six carries, and two touchdowns from scrimmage. It was hardly a bad day at the office for the former Heisman Trophy winner.
9) Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 82.5 (B-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 24
From Week 2 to Week 3, Caleb Williams is the highest climber up the QBi rankings this week. It makes a lot of sense, as he finished with 298 passing yards, four touchdowns, and a 142.6 passer rating in the Chicago Bears’ decisive win over the Cowboys on Sunday.
Most notably, with 1.49 EPA per dropback at the end of the first half, Williams has the highest average of any quarterback in the league. At 94.46, he also has the fourth-highest clutch grade in PFSN’s database, as well as ranking second among all QBs with eight total touchdowns to start the season.
8) Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 82.6 (B-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 9
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have pulled away with three straight nail-biting wins to start 2025, a streak that continued with their Week 3 win over the Jets. When you enter those late-game situations, it helps to have a talented, gutsy quarterback like Baker Mayfield on your roster.
Mayfield ranks in the top ten in passing touchdowns, EPA per dropback, and third-down conversion percentage. He also has yet to throw an interception through three games, and he’s one of just two quarterbacks in the NFL with a positive EPA average under pressure.
7) Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 84.6 (B)
Last Week’s Ranking: 4
Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers’ hot start to 2025 cooled down significantly on Sunday with their loss to Cleveland. That’s not to say Love was bad in Week 3, because he certainly wasn’t, but it wasn’t as strong as the outings he put together in the previous two weeks.
Though he threw his first interception of the year on Sunday, Love still has a respectable five touchdowns to just the one pick. He completed 72.0% of his attempts against the Browns, and he’s still fourth in the NFL with a 50.0% third-down conversion percentage.
6) Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 87.5 (B+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 1
Things are looking up for the Los Angeles Chargers, having started the year at 3-0 with two key divisional wins in a loaded AFC West. A big part of their success thus far has been the strong play of Justin Herbert.
The league leader with 860 passing yards through three games, Herbert also has six passing touchdowns to just one interception to begin 2025. He ranks in the top ten in practically every analytical category in PFSN’s database, as well.
5) Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 91.0 (A-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 5
Through the first three games of the season, the Buffalo Bills have yet to score fewer than 30 points in a game. Given their elite level of offensive output since the start of the season, it’s no surprise that Josh Allen has been playing at his typical elite level.
MORE: Josh Allen Edges Tua Tagovailoa in High-Stakes Battle as PFSN’s Metrics Reveal Untold Story
Allen has the third-best clutch rating in PFSN’s database, and he’s fifth in the league in EPA per dropback at 0.28. He’s been the third-most efficient passer under pressure in the NFL, behind only Baker Mayfield and Jared Goff. He ranks in the top ten in passing yards, and he’s yet to throw an interception to start the year.
4) Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 91.7 (A-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 8
The Baltimore Ravens may be 1-2 to start the season, but that’s hardly been Lamar Jackson’s fault. He has been playing at an MVP level through the first three games, as he looks to become just the seventh player in NFL history to win the award three times.
Jackson leads the NFL with nine passing touchdowns, he has the best passer rating in the league at 141.8, and he’s fourth with a 72.0% completion percentage. To start the year, he’s tied with Daniel Jones for the second-highest EPA per dropback in the league.
3) Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 91.8 (A-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 6
The league leader with a 77.6% completion percentage, Jared Goff has been operating at an extremely high level to start the year. After a stellar outing in Week 2, he managed to carry on that success in the Detroit Lions’ victory over Baltimore on Monday night.
Goff leads all QBs with 0.41 EPA per dropback. He’s the second-most efficient passer under pressure behind only Baker Mayfield, and he’s tied for the second-most passing touchdowns in the league with seven. Things started off slow for him with a rough outing in Week 1, but he’s been fantastic in consecutive weeks.
2) Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 93.2 (A)
Last Week’s Ranking: 3
Brock Purdy missed Week 3 due to a variant of turf toe, and he’s expected to miss a few more games as a result. However, he finishes the week in second place in QBi due to his stellar Week 1 outing, which sets the tone for the year.
1) Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 98.0 (A+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 2
To everyone’s surprise, the Indianapolis Colts are riding high at 3-0 and looking like one of the top teams in the NFL. Perhaps even more surprising has been the stellar play of Daniel Jones, who is genuinely looking like an MVP candidate through the first three weeks of the season.
With an NFL-best 9.0 net yards per attempt, Jones has been the most efficient QB at moving the ball down the field in big chunks. He’s second in EPA per dropback at an 0.36 average, and he’s converted on a combined 56.7% of his third- and fourth-down chances. He’s also third in the league with 816 passing yards and has yet to throw a pick.
