Leading up to every NFL regular season, there’s always a chance players can get hurt in a preseason game or practice, and it appears the latest big-name player to suffer this fate is Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty.
With that, fantasy football analysts have provided some insight into what this could mean for the Raiders’ backfield and potential backups, but one analyst in particular is drawing significant negative attention for his comments about the injury.
Fantasy Analyst Draws Heat for Immediate Ashton Jeanty Replacement Take
On X on Sunday night, Dave Richard, an NFL Draft and fantasy football analyst for CBS Sports, put out a post mentioning that Jeanty was helped off the field at practice today and was unable to put any weight on his right leg.
This post came minutes after “California Post” beat writer Vincent Bonsignore reported the injury.
Quoting Richards’ post, Alfredo Brown, a fantasy football analyst at both FantasyPros and Reception Perception, wrote, “Three Words: Mike. Washington. Jr.” and quite a few people took exception to this post.

Another replied with an expletive, saying, “Three words, you’re an (expletive).”
Another response was a bit harsher, with one person saying, “Didn’t even wait a minute u loser.”

The general sentiment appears to be the tone in which Brown’s message mentioning Washington Jr. came across.

If Jeanty did in fact tear his ACL or suffer some other type of season-ending injury to his right knee, the Raiders will be losing a massive part of their offense.
The second-year running back finished with a PFN RB Impact score of just 66.1 (54th) last season, but he had 266 carries for 975 yards (3.7 yards per carry) for five touchdowns and also caught 55 passes on 73 targets for 346 yards and five more scores last season as a rookie.

Now, this season, he would’ve (in theory) been behind a better offensive line led by center Tyler Linderbaum and a quarterback duo of Kirk Cousins and No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza.
From here, Brown is right in that the next man up is likely Washington Jr., a rookie out of Arkansas who was taken No. 122 overall in the fourth round.
“Mike Washington Jr. was one of the nation’s most efficient runners in 2025, securing a strong PFSN RB Impact grade of 88.6 while rumbling for 1,070 yards and eight touchdowns on over six yards per carry,” PFN’s scouting report said about the player.
In addition to Washington Jr., the Raiders also have Dylan Laube and Dare Ogunbowale.
