Preseason football has its benefits and its drawbacks. Fans get to watch another month of football, and players get to show the world why they belong and deserve to make the team. But sometimes players get hurt during training camp or in preseason games, derailing seasons. With Seahawks rookie safety Bud Clark getting carted off, the NFL world is aggravated by the injuries affecting the NFL right now.
NFL Fans React to Bud Clark’s Injury
Clark was the Seahawks’ second-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. After key secondary members Tariq Woolen and Coby Bryant left in free agency, the reigning Super Bowl champions needed to find players to replace them.
While Clark likely wouldn’t have started, he would have been an important piece of Seattle’s backend depth. Now, the Seahawks are holding their breath as they await the diagnosis.
NFL reporter Ari Meirov delivered the tough news to the NFL world that Clark was in an aircast on the cart.

“Seahawks rookie S Bud Clark, their 2nd-round pick out of TCU, is getting carted off with a lower-leg injury. They put an aircast on his leg, which is never a good thing,” said Meirov.

The injury could prove costly for the Seahawks. The NFC West is no joke, filled with talent, and losing Clark is far from what they needed.
“Clark ended the 2025 season at TCU with a 91.8 PFN CFB SAF score, ranking 8th out of all eligible safeties last fall. Could be a significant loss for the Seahawks,” added Pro Football Network.

Injuries are never good for any team or any player, and it sucks to see them before any real meaningful snaps are played. NFL fans aren’t happy about the injuries affecting their favorite teams’ players.

Another fan chimed in with a more extreme request, “cancel the season.”
Unfortunately for the fans, none of this is possible. Each team has one more week of preseason action. But fans are justifiably frustrated with the injuries, especially after star RB Ashton Jeanty went down in practice with a potentially major injury today as well.
“Is there normally this many injuries in camp??? This feels significantly more than any other year,” said one fan.

Teams need their players to get reps before the season to be prepared. But there’s always the risk of injury that comes with that, and it’s up to teams to decide how many reps each player needs. Practice injuries are harder to manage because every player has to practice, whereas not everyone needs to play in preseason games.

“Pre-season sucks. Everybody is just hoping their team comes out of it injury-free, which rarely happens. Hope for a fast recovery for him,” said one fan.

No matter what fans think about preseason, teams need it to get ready for the season.
The injuries are a major downside, and no one wants to see their team’s season end before it even begins. But with each preseason game going by, the regular season gets one step closer.
The Seahawks will hope for good news on Clark, and they’ll have to focus on defending their title when the NFL regular season opens in a few weeks.
