The Tennessee Titans’ starting offense will want to forget their preseason showing against the defending champion Seattle Seahawks. They scored only three points over three drives and didn’t look very effective against Seattle’s defense.
One play in particular drew plenty of scrutiny as Cam Ward was stripped while trying to scramble.
NFL Fans Rip Cam Ward for Careless Ball Security
Ward tried scrambling out of the pocket, trying to get away from Seahawks LB Chazz Surratt, but with the ball swinging aimlessly in Ward’s right hand, Surratt was able to knock the ball free. It didn’t cost the Titans, but idrew plenty of attention to Ward’s carelessness.

Turnovers are potential game killers, and entering his second year, Ward needs to protect the football better than he did against the Seahawks. The fans went right after Ward for not protecting the football.

Another fan echoed the sentiment about making sure the ball is protected.
“Come on, Cam, you gotta protect the ball, man,” added the fan.

The fans want to see Ward make a nice leap in his second season under a new staff and with more experience under his belt. But carelessly carrying the ball and getting stripped can’t happen anymore.
“Cam still doing Rookie (expletive),” added one fan.
In his rookie season, Ward posted an impact score of 61.6 on PFN’s QB Impact Metric, ranking worst in the league.
Ward may not have seen Surratt coming, but if he wants to improve, he has to be able to see him.

The fans didn’t hold back on Ward and even brought C.J. Stroud into the mix. Stroud has been dragged after his poor performance in the playoffs against the Patriots.

Ward needs to get his act together if he wants to make a sophomore leap.
He does have a new staff that might take some getting used to, but Titans fans will be demanding improvement from the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
