NFL Announces Decision on Chiefs WR Rashee Rice
On Friday afternoon, ESPN Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported the “NFL concluded today that Chiefs WR Rashee Rice ‘has not engaged in conduct that violates the personal conduct policy.'”
“Investigation into accusations from his former girlfriend is now closed; there will be no discipline at this time.”
“Statement from his attorney Sean Lindsey: ‘Mr. Rice wants to thank the NFL for their thorough investigation, and looks forward to the start of the 2026-27 NFL season.'”
Schefter later added, “NFL spokesman @NFLprguy (Brian McCarthy) on the Rahsee Rice investigation: ‘There was insufficient evidence to support a finding that he violated the personal conduct policy.'”

To backtrack, the initial report of possible misconduct dates back to February 18, when Schefter reported: “An ex-girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has filed a civil lawsuit in Texas alleging he repeatedly assaulted her during an 18-month span from 2023 to 2025, per @ByNateTaylor and @mikerothstein. Dacoda Jones, who said she was pregnant during many of the alleged assaults, is seeking more than $1 million.”
However, as we have now learned, after a thorough investigation and multiple updates from league sources, it appears Rice did not violate the NFL’s personal conduct policy and will not face any discipline heading into next season.
Rashee Rice Performance for Kansas City in 2025-26
Rice’s third NFL season likely didn’t go as he had hoped, as he was suspended for the first six games after violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. He also missed the final three weeks after being placed on season-ending injured reserve.
Still, across eight appearances, he managed to haul in 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and six total touchdowns. According to PFSN’s WR Impact metrics, he posted an 82.0 Impact Score, earning a B- grade and ranking 16th among all wide receivers.
The Chiefs’ current wide receiver room, headlined by Rice, also features former first-round pick Xavier Worthy, as well as Tyquan Thornton, Nikko Remigio, and Jalen Royals. It is crucial that Rice begins next season fully available and ready to lead this group.
Between Rice, Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, Travis Kelce, and a strong defense, Kansas City could very well find itself in playoff contention once again in 2026-27.
