One podcaster slammed the NFL media's coverage of various NFL scandals, including the Dianna Russini-Mike Vrabel controversy.

Former NFL insider Dianna Russini commanded the news cycle during the NFL offseason after her alleged affair with New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel was exposed in April. Apart from the Russini-Vrabel matter, the NFL offseason has been beset by several scandals.

Podcaster Questions Media’s Coverage of Dianna Russini & Various NFL Scandals

On Thursday, Tony Farmer, the host of “The Last Men Standing Podcast,” blasted the media for their coverage of various NFL offseason scandals, including the Russini-Vrabel saga.

“Pats beat writers afraid to ask Vrabel tough questions,” Farmer wrote. “Colorado beat writers scared to leak the August 10 email. Radio hosts afraid to ask Adam Schefter about his Shanahan coverage. Radio hosts not asking Mike Silver about Crissy Froyd. Jane Slater and James Palmer won’t talk about Dianna Russini.

“49ers beat writers won’t ask Kyle Shanahan tough questions about his accident. The Associated Press won’t answer legitimate questions about its Russini coverage. Nobody will ask Steve Levy or ESPN about the infamous Levy-Russini tweet. No NFL writer has asked about Russini’s deleted Morgan Moses tweet, which has real-world implications.”

Farmer has continuously questioned the media’s silence on the Russini-Vrabel alleged affair and its impact on transfers over the years. In addition, the podcaster has questioned the Associated Press about its failure to address Russini’s voter status and whether her alleged relationship with Vrabel swayed her voting choices.

Since intimate pictures of Russini and Vrabel were leaked in April, several conspiracies have mushroomed about the pair’s alleged relationship, including allegations of tampering. The major media networks have basically ignored covering the scandal, leading to questions from fans and analysts about a possible cover-up.

Farmer further made a hefty comment about the death of journalism and wrote, “I believe you are witnessing the death of journalism in real time and it’s not just a sports problem. Sports are the canary in the coal mine.”

The podcaster also pinpointed various offseason NFL scandals, including ESPN’s coverage of San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan’s car accident, which happened on July 14 but was reported on July 25. Shanahan took the blame for the accident, which left him with a concussion, three broken ribs, a broken nose, and a broken hand.

During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” several weeks ago, outspoken Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers also ranted against the media and its coverage of various issues, including the Vrabel-Russini saga.

Due to the media’s purported limited coverage of the scandals, Farmer, podcaster Nikki Gist, and former USA TODAY reporter Crissy Froyd have become leading voices asking tough questions outside the mainstream media.
