Ex-Eagles LB Torches Philadelphia’s Offense After Embarrassing Performance vs. Bears

The offensive issues needed to be fixed to get the Eagles back to the Super Bowl, but it seems that has not happened.

The Philadelphia Eagles entered Week 13 with an 8-3 record, but for some reason, it did not feel like it. This was mainly due to the Eagles’ highly discussed offensive struggles this season, but in recent weeks, they have shown some improvement.

The offensive issues needed to be fixed to get the Eagles back to the Super Bowl, but it seems that has not happened. Against the Chicago Bears on Black Friday, the Eagles’ offense has looked uninspiring, and at the time of writing this, Philadelphia is losing.

Former LB of the Eagles Gives His Opinion on the Offensive Woes

Many people have strong opinions about the offense, and today, a former Eagles player spoke out about it.

During today’s game, national analyst and former NFL LB Emmanuel Acho released a post on X/Twitter outlining what he felt was missing in the Eagles offense: “The Eagles offense: Lacks complexity, Lacks variation, Lacks explosion, Lacks eye manipulation, Lacks urgency… Everything a good offense needs, it currently lacks.”

What Acho said at the end of his post is an excellent summary of what is happening with the Eagles’ offense: “Everything a good offense needs, it currently lacks.” Just looking at some of the rankings in PFSN’s Offensive Impact Metric, the Eagles are ranked 16th overall, 19th (5.2) in yards per play, 24th in third/fourth down conversion, and 23rd in sack percentage.

Going further to some of the top weapons on Philadelphia’s offense, RB Saquon Barkley, who had an MVP-level year last season, is ranked 31st overall and 42nd in yards per rush according to PFSN’s RB Impact Metric.

WR A.J. Brown, who has been disgruntled over the offense for most of the season, is ranked 25th overall and 47th in yards per target, per PFSN’s WR Impact Metric.

Last season, Barkley ranked third overall, and Brown also ranked third. There has been an apparent fall-off in production for the playmakers, and the Eagles need to fix it.

Repeating a Super Bowl victory is a near-impossible task in the NFL, but the Eagles still have a chance to do it with their dominant defense (ranks 7th overall in PFSN’s Defensive Impact Metric). In any game, the defense can only do so much, and the offense must hold its own, so fixing this issue before the playoffs is a must.
