College football’s top offenses generate explosives, wins, and fans. Using PFSN’s Offense Impact Metric (OFFi), here are the top 10 offenses of Week 12 that managed to help create a college football environment that we all know and love.
10) Western Kentucky Hilltoppers
Week 12 PFSN College OFFi Grade: 89.2 (B+)
According to TruMedia, Western Kentucky finished Week 12 with 642 yards of total offense and just one turnover. Despite their defense not forcing a single turnover and allowing Middle Tennessee 541 yards of offense, the Hilltoppers were too dominant to be denied a win.
9) Utah Utes
Week 12 PFSN College OFFi Grade: 89.6 (B+)
Utah continues to quietly claw its way back into the playoff picture. While a few more things need to fall into place, the offense has finally started to match the defense’s intensity. Utah is one of the few teams in the country with top-10 offenses and defenses this season, ranking No. 7 and No. 6, respectively, according to our Impact grades.
In Week 12, it was the offense that came to play. They beat Baylor 55-28, with just 103 passing yards. The real story of their success was an absurd 382 yards and 5 rushing touchdowns on an incredibly efficient 9.3 yards per attempt.
8) Kentucky Wildcats
Week 12 PFSN College OFFi Grade: 89.6 (B+)
For a second-straight week, the Kentucky Wildcats have graced the top 10 of our offensive rankings. Overall, Kentucky has actually had one of the better offenses since 2019. They have 13 Top-10 finishes and 21 Top-25 finishes, ranking No. 16 and No. 21 out of 136 FBS teams, respectively.
This week wasn’t exactly impressive, considering their opponent was Tennessee Tech. Nevertheless, they still managed 468 yards of offense and 42 points, while throwing just six incompletions — three of those from the starter in 21 attempts, and three from the backup in six attempts.
7) Ohio State Buckeyes
Week 12 PFSN College OFFi Grade: 90.5 (A-)
As mentioned in past articles, Ohio State still ranks first in longest seconds per play in FBS, showing that they have been controlling and milking teams offensively while letting their defense put these games out of reach. Julian Sayin continues to demonstrate pinpoint accuracy, and his top two receivers continue to prove why they are considered the nation’s best.

Ohio State’s 92.9 season grade is No. 3 in the FBS, and it’s been five weeks since its offense has produced a game outside of the top 25 for that week. It’s been four weeks since they made a game outside of the top 10. While the cries about their schedule aren’t exactly unwarranted, all the Buckeyes can do is beat what’s in front of them. That’s precisely what they have done, and in convincing fashion.
6) Boston College Eagles
Week 12 PFSN College OFFi Grade: 90.8 (A-)
Boston College wide receivers Lewis Bond and Reed Harris gave their best efforts to try to pull off an upset over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Bond finished with eight catches for 106 yards, and Harris with five catches for 142 yards and a score. Accounting for 68.5% of your team’s passing yards is quite impressive, and it’s part of the reason why Boston College joins an elite group of teams to crack the top 10 in a losing effort.
There have been nine times this season where a team has placed in the top 10 offensively in a loss. Of those nine games, Boston College has the highest-ranked Impact score and is the only one with a grade of an A- or better. Of those nine games, only two involved a winner with a higher impact score.
5) Northern Illinois Huskies
Week 12 PFSN College OFFi Grade: 91.1 (A-)
Northern Illinois threw just eight total passes in their 45-3 win over UMass in Week 12!! Since 2019, only 18 non-academy teams (Air Force, Navy, Army) have finished with eight or fewer passes. Thirteen of them won, and five of them lost. NIU is tied for first among them in points scored and sixth in time-of-possession margin.
4) North Texas Mean Green
Week 12 PFSN College OFFi Grade: 93.0 (A)
Drew Mestemaker is the latest quarterback to learn under the tutelage of Eric Morris. Notable names before him include Patrick Mahomes, Cam Ward, and John Mateer — one of the greatest quarterbacks ever, a first overall pick, and a solid quarterback at Oklahoma. Mestemaker continues to show why he has what it takes to join the ranks of these other studs.

In Week 12, he finished with 298 yards and two passing touchdowns on a 72% completion percentage with zero interceptions or sacks. About as efficient a game as you can have. Caleb Hawkins also averaged seven yards per rush on 189 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. They played a big part in why North Texas cruised to a 53-24 victory over UAB and now has a 9-1 record, with playoff aspirations alive and well.
3) Texas Tech Red Raiders
Week 12 PFSN College OFFi Grade: 93.6 (A)
Texas Tech annihilated UCF 48-9, and it can be argued that their third-string quarterback did better than the starter. Regardless of that argument, they combined for 294 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of their passes. This, along with 207 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns, complemented the dominant defensive play that has led this team for much of the season.
2) Washington Huskies
Week 12 PFSN College OFFi Grade: 94.8 (A)
The Washington Huskies are No. 4 in the nation offensively, with an Impact grade of 92.3. This is their fourth consecutive week ranking in the top two, with all three previous instances resulting in a No. 1 ranking. With new data entering every week, these scores are not static; as a result, records will change.
Just three weeks ago, Washington’s 98.4 score against Illinois put them in third place for the best performance since 2019. Unfortunately, they aren’t able to do this consistently. Their 94.8 this week against Purdue was another all-timer, but the game in between the two was an all-time stinker.
They scored 10 points in a loss to Wisconsin, which marked their lowest impact score (69.4) since Week 3 of the 2024 season. It’s their sixth-lowest mark since PFSN data became available in 2019.
1) Oregon Ducks
Week 12 PFSN College OFFi Grade: 95.5 (A)
The Oregon Ducks are quite the opposite of the Huskies. They are consistently among the top offenses in football, even if their highs aren’t as high as Washington’s. While Washington has the highest impact score on the season, Oregon ranks third in our hottest offenses rankings.

Using an exponentially weighted moving average to give more importance to more recent data, the Ducks have an average Impact score of 88.5, ranking behind only North Texas and Ohio State. Among the offenses playing their best football right now, Oregon is among the scariest.
