Texas Longhorns offensive tackle Trevor Goosby left the team’s practice session on Monday with a left knee injury.

On Tuesday, ESPN’s Pete Thamel alleviated Texas fans’ fears about Goosby’s injury, revealing that the offensive tackle had undergone an MRI and avoided a significant injury.

CFB Fans React to Trevor Goosby’s Injury News

Thamel revealed that Goosby’s return timetable will come together in the near future.

“Sources: Texas star left tackle Trevor Goosby had an MRI on his left knee this morning, and he’s been diagnosed with a bone bruise. His timetable for return will come together in near future,” Thamel revealed.

College football fans on X reacted to the good news about Goosby’s injury:

One Texas fan thanked Bevo, the Longhorns mascot, for the offensive lineman’s promising diagnosis.

Elenaa Brooks breathed a sigh of relief after news of Goosby’s injury broke.

“Update hits different if you were worried about the season, but a bone bruise means he’ll be alright soon,” Brooks celebrated.

Shaun Hall prayed that Goosby would be fit in time for the Longhorns’ Week 2 game against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Ellie was happy for Texas fans after a nail-biting 24 hours since Goosby’s injury.

“Sounds like a relief, especially after the worry from practice. a bone bruise means it could be better than it seemed initially. Hope it eases some stress for the fans waiting on updates,” Ellie posted.

Texas insider Eric Nahlin was ecstatic about Goosby’s injury update.

“Tremendous news,” Nahlin rejoiced.

Goosby was a three-star recruit in the class of 2023, and he initially committed to the TCU Horned Frogs before flipping his commitment to Texas. After redshirting his freshman season, he established himself as one of college football’s best offensive linemen.

He started 13 games for the Longhorns last season, earning first-team All-SEC honors. Goosby allowed 16 pressures and 3 sacks, earning a PFN College Offensive Line Impact score of 89.1 (No. 25 in the country).

As the Longhorns’ best offensive lineman, Goosby has a huge role to play in protecting quarterback Arch Manning’s blindside.

Goosby has played 30 games for the Longhorns, and ESPN projects him as a first-team All-American. He is the second-best tackle and the No. 12-ranked prospect in PFN’s 2027 NFL Draft Big Board.
