The trade speculation around Myles Garrett is at a premium. But the Cleveland Browns have a critical 2026 NFL Draft to look ahead to. A spectacular defense could power them to be a legitimate threat in the AFC if it got any support from the offense.
Thanks to a depleted quarterback class, Shedeur Sanders might walk into next season as their starter. But the team needs more help around him. As a result, one analyst has them adding an enticing tight end prospect to replace veteran David Njoku.
How the Cleveland Browns Can Bring Shedeur Sanders More Weapons
Last year, the quarterback situation for the Browns was a mess. Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Sanders all got extended runs with the team under center. However, none of the options were particularly exciting.
The two rookies in particular had a wildly disappointing showing, ranking third-last and second-last on PFSN’s QB Impact. Still, Sanders showed enough flashes, particularly for his first year, that the team might give him another shot.
However, the second-generation star is going to need more help around him to make a major difference. A putrid offensive line needs improvement to give him ample time in the pocket, while the playmaking group needs a large overhaul.
Njoku announcing that he won’t be returning to the team next season might have been the first step in that transformation. A nine-year veteran who was originally drafted by Cleveland, he had a disappointing 2025 campaign with just 293 yards to his name.
Ranked at No. 48 on PFSN’s TE Impact, he wasn’t a needle mover and was quickly surpassed by Harold Fannin Jr. in the depth chart. Still, Ian Cummings believes the Browns need more depth at the tight end spot.
For a team that ranked dead last on PFSN’s Offense Impact, any help on that side of the ball would be gladly appreciated. But in his latest mock draft, Cummings made the argument for Oscar Delp to join the fold in the second round to mask Fannin’s one major weakness.
“The Browns have Harold Fannin Jr., but he’s not a consistent in-line presence. Oscar Delp gives Cleveland a truly dangerous 1-2 punch at TE. He’s excellent in-line, but also has dynamic receiving upside.”

Spending four seasons with Georgia, Delp racked up 854 receiving yards and nine touchdowns while emerging as an elite blocker for his quarterbacks.
That could be a major asset for the Browns and their pass protection as they walk away with the ninth-ranked tight end prospect, according to PFSN.
