Odell Beckham Jr. Signs With Miami Dolphins

Beckham has lots of work ahead of him in the coming months. He needs to learn Mike McDaniel’s offense, acclimate to a brutal summer climate, and fit into an already-established culture.

Will the experiment work? The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec told the PFN Miami Dolphins Podcast Wednesday that he believes it will.

Why?

The Beckham we saw in New York and Cleveland is not the player he is now from a performance and personality standpoint.

Yes, Beckham hasn’t had a 1,000-yard season since 2019. Injuries and age have sapped some of the explosiveness he had a decade ago. But he can still do a lot of things to help a Dolphins offense that is tailor-made for his strengths.

What’s more, the famously mercurial Beckham has matured, evolving into a big brother role that he embraced during his one season in Baltimore.

While Beckham surely wanted a bigger on-field role than he had with the Ravens — he caught 35 passes for 565 yards on 64 targets in 2023 — he didn’t make waves.

And he has agreed willingly to join a Dolphins team that already has established No. 1 and 2 receivers in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
