Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season has wrapped up. For some quarterbacks, it was a chance to rebound after a slow start to the season. Others kept their momentum going with another strong outing in Week 1. Then, there are a few who fell back down to Earth after starting hot last week.
A handful of players delivered stellar performances, as reflected in our metrics. PFSN has you covered with your QB rankings for the 2025 season, as our QBi metric puts a numerical value on how each back performs every week.
Keep in mind that these rankings are purely based on the opening week, not for the entire season. Some consensus top quarterbacks may rank lower than usual, while a few surprise names appear in the top ten. With Week 2 in the rearview mirror, let’s rank the top 34 quarterbacks in the NFL after one week of play.
34) Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 49.9 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 32
Cam Ward came out of Week 1 with the lowest QBi grade in the league. The No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft remains in that bottom spot after a rocky game in the Tennessee Titans’ loss to the Rams on Sunday.
Granted, Ward hasn’t had much to work with. He’s been sacked 11 times in two games, which is the highest total of any quarterback in the NFL thus far. But his 50.8% completion percentage is not sustainable for long-term success, and his 69.5 passer rating is the second-worst in the league, with only the next entrant on this list ranking beneath Ward.
33) J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 54.1 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 28
A strong fourth quarter in Week 1 showed the flashes of what J.J. McCarthy could become. The first three quarters of that game, as well as his Week 2 outing in the Minnesota Vikings’ loss to the Falcons, provide a more accurate depiction of where he currently is in his development.
McCarthy’s average EPA per dropback of -0.52 is the lowest rate of any starting quarterback in the NFL coming out of Week 2. He has a completion percentage of just 58.5%, and he’s thrown three interceptions to just two touchdowns to start the year. It’s been a slow start for the former Michigan standout.
32) Joe Flacco, Cleveland Browns
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 60.1 (D-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 17
For the second week in a row, the Cleveland Browns relied on Joe Flacco to take a heavy workload in the passing game. This time around, though, things weren’t as productive. On 45 passing attempts, Flacco ended up with just 199 passing yards and completed 55.6% of his passes.
Though he threw a touchdown, Flacco also had an interception, leaving him with more picks thrown than touchdown passes through the first two weeks of the season. His -0.24 EPA per dropback average is the third-lowest in the NFL after Week 2.
31) Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 62.8 (D-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 30
It’s been a slow start for Sam Darnold with the Seattle Seahawks, despite the massive contract they signed him to this offseason. He did enough to help Seattle defeat the Steelers on Sunday, but it wasn’t until he threw two interceptions in the process.
Darnold has converted on just 33.3% of his third-down attempts, which has made it tougher for the Seahawks to put together strong drives. However, he threw two touchdown passes and improved his yardage total from 150 in Week 1 to 295 in Week 2.
30) Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 62.9 (D-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 27
Coming into Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season, Bryce Young is tied with Joe Flacco for the most passing attempts through the first two games of the year. Much of that is because the Carolina Panthers have been coming from behind in their matchups, with Young throwing the ball 55 times against the Cardinals.
At 4.9 net yards per attempt, Young is tied for the third-lowest mark in the league. He threw three touchdowns against Arizona and finished the game with 328 yards, but he’s thrown two picks in two games and has a completion percentage of just 58.9% after two weeks.
29) Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 64.0 (D)
Last Week’s Ranking: 18
It was a tough day for Jayden Daniels on Sunday, and it concluded with his suffering a minor knee injury that has his status for Week 3 up in the air. He got roughed up pretty good in the Washington Commanders’ Thursday night loss to Green Bay.
Daniels got sacked four times by the Packers’ swarming defense, and he completed just 57.1% of his passes in Week 2. He’s thrown three touchdowns to no interceptions, but he hasn’t completed his passes at a high enough rate to rank highly from a QBi perspective.
28) C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 64.2 (D)
Last Week’s Ranking: 24
Check back later with updates after C.J. Stroud’s performance on Monday Night Football.
27) Jake Browning, Cincinnati Bengals
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 69.1 (D+)
Last Week’s Ranking: N/R
Jake Browning found himself thrust into action midway through the Cincinnati Bengals’ matchup against the Jaguars, and he ended up leading them to a 31-27 victory on Sunday. It wasn’t the prettiest way to pick up a win, but he converted on big plays often enough to overcome his mistakes.

— Lee Harvey (@MusikFan4Life) September 14, 2025
A big reason Browning ranks this low is because of the three interceptions that he threw on Sunday. However, he also threw for two touchdowns with a decent 65.6% completion rate. That high turnover volume isn’t sustainable if Cincinnati is to remain powerful in Burrow’s absence, but Browning has shown he can still lead some explosive drives.
26) Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 69.5 (D+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 25
Joe Burrow suffered a major toe injury on Sunday in the Bengals’ win over the Jaguars. The injury will likely see him miss most of 2025, if not the season entirely, which is unfortunate news for him and the Bengals’ organization.
Before getting hurt, Burrow didn’t light the world on fire against Jacksonville. He completed seven of 13 passing attempts for 76 yards, giving him a 53.9% completion percentage and an average of just 5.8 yards per throw.
25) Bo Nix, Denver Broncos
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 71.0 (C-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 26
The Denver Broncos have had a rocky start to the 2025 season, no pun intended. They barely came away with a win over Tennessee to start the year, and they gave up their lead in a loss to the Colts on Sunday. Heading into Week 3, Bo Nix has shown some of those ups and downs in his own individual play.
With an EPA of 0.01 per dropback, Nix is the first quarterback on this list with a positive average, though it isn’t by much. He finds himself climbing a spot for his throwing three touchdowns against the Colts, though he also threw a pick in what ended up being a loss for Denver.
24) Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 71.2 (C-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 20
Simply put, it’s been a disastrous start to the season for the 0-2 Chicago Bears. Porous defensive coverage, the lack of a pass rush, and their blown lead against the Vikings in Week 1 stand out as the biggest reasons for their struggles. Caleb Williams is hardly the biggest issue for Chicago, but he hasn’t been particularly amazing, either.
Going into Week 3, Williams is 20th in the league with 417 passing yards and has scored four total touchdown to one interception. His biggest problem has been accuracy: his completion percentage through two games is just 61.5%, as he’s struggled hitting his targets vertically.
23) Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 72.5 (C-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 31
Tua Tagovailoa was able to put enough positive bits together on film against the Patriots on Sunday for him to rise a few spots in the rankings. He still doesn’t rank all that high, though, and it’s clear he has to improve for the Miami Dolphins to get out of the funk they find themselves in to start 2025.
With a jump from 5.0 yards per attempt in Week 1 to 9.8 yards per attempt in Week 2, Tagovailoa was much more efficient moving the ball down the field on Sunday. He’s at a dead even 1:1 touchdown-interception ratio, however, and he’s been sacked eight times through two games.
22) Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 72.7 (C-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 16
Losing a game to a team with a backup quarterback is never ideal, and that’s what happened to Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars this past week. A lot of that loss came down to the Jaguars’ defense, but the passing attack wasn’t without blame, either.
Lawrence threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns in Week 2, both major upgrades over his Week 1 performance. He also threw two interceptions, however, and his 58.9% completion percentage is the eighth-worst in the NFL to start the season.
21) Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 72.9 (C-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 11
After a stellar Week 1 outing, Aaron Rodgers fell back down to Earth this past Sunday in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ loss to the Seahawks. He threw two interceptions to just one passing touchdown and completed only 54.6% of his 33 passing attempts.
Rodgers still has a somewhat respectable ranking because of how well he played against the Jets. He threw four touchdown passes and had a 1.36 clutch rating that still ranks fourth in the NFL after two weeks. But he wasn’t nearly as efficient in Week 2.
20) Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta Falcons
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 74.1 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 10
The Atlanta Falcons picked up the win in their Sunday night matchup against the Vikings, but much of that success came on the defensive side of the ball. Michael Penix Jr. wasn’t particularly great, which sees him drop a few spots in PFSN’s QBi rankings going into Week 3 of the season.
With just 135 passing yards in Week 2, Penix wasn’t all that effective against Minnesota’s pass defense. He didn’t throw any interceptions, but with no touchdowns and such a low yardage total, he didn’t have a massive impact on the outcome of the game for Atlanta one way or the other.
19) Spencer Rattler, New Orleans Saints
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 74.1 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 22
For how gloom and doom things felt around the New Orleans Saints’ quarterback situation coming into the season, Spencer Rattler has been perfectly serviceable to begin the year. Granted, the Saints still find themselves with an 0-2 record, but both of their losses have been competitive.
Rattler has 421 passing yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions through two weeks. He has the fifth-highest EPA per dropback under pressure in the league, though he has the tenth-lowest EPA per dropback in a clean pocket.
18) Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 74.3 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 14
For the first time in Patrick Mahomes’ career, the Kansas City Chiefs are 0-2 to start the regular season. That has more to do with a difficult stretch of games to begin the year than it does with Mahomes being bad. He hasn’t been bad at all, but he hasn’t particularly been great, either.
Mahomes’ 82.0 passer rating ranks just 26th in the NFL coming out of Week 2. He’s scored four total touchdowns to just one interception, but his 58.8% completion percentage is the sixth-lowest of any quarterback in the league.
17) Justin Fields, New York Jets
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 74.8 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 1
Week 2 proved to be quite the tumble for Justin Fields, who started the season first in the league in QBi but now ranks near the middle. His tremendous season opener was not replicated in the New York Jets’ loss to the Bills on Sunday.
Fields had a 27.3% completion percentage, 27 passing yards, and a 39.6 passer rating in Week 2. He unfortunately left the game early due to a concussion, unable to stay on the field long enough in hopes of salvaging his poor performance.
16) Russell Wilson, New York Giants
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 75.9 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 29
Thanks primarily in part to such a high passing volume, Russell Wilson is the NFL’s leading passer with 618 yards through the first two games of the 2025 season. That’s not to say he’s been perfect by any means, just that the New York Giants have trusted him with throwing the ball a lot.

— NFL on CBS 🏈 (@NFLonCBS) September 14, 2025
After completing just 46.0% of his passes in Week 1 against the Commanders, Wilson bounced back in Week 2 with a 73.2% completion rate, tallying a whopping 450 passing yards and averaging 11.0 yards per attempt. He did throw an interception, but his three passing touchdowns and high completion percentage shoot him up these rankings.
15) Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 78.6 (C+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 8
Of the 29 starting quarterbacks who started and finished both of their two opening games, Jalen Hurts has the fewest passing yards of the bunch with just 253. He also has yet to throw a single passing touchdown through the Philadelphia Eagles’ first two games. Nonetheless, his team remains undefeated to start the year.
Hurts has scored three touchdowns on the ground through the first two weeks. His 52.0% third-down conversion rate is the fifth-best in the NFL, as of this writing, and his 75.6% completion percentage ranks second behind only Jared Goff.
14) Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 79.3 (C+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 15
Through two games, the Arizona Cardinals hold a 2-0 record, and Kyler Murray has been solid as their starting quarterback. Both of those wins have been pretty close and against middling competition, but there’s enough juice in their offense to feel confident as the season continues.
Murray is tied for 11th with 0.15 EPA per dropback, and he’s been the fourth-most efficient quarterback in the NFL under pressure, losing just -0.06 EPA per play that he’s been pressured. Averaging less than 200 passing yards a game won’t wow the average fan, but Murray has been perfectly fine enough to lead Arizona to victory so far.
13) Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 80.3 (B-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 19
While Dak Prescott started hot but cooled off in the Dallas Cowboys’ season opener, he approached Week 2 with his foot fully on the gas pedal. That did result in him throwing an interception, but on 52 passing attempts, he ended up with 361 passing yards and an impressive completion percentage of 73.1% at such a high throwing volume.
It’s clear that the Cowboys’ defense looks like a problem after the first two games of the season, and that should keep their opponents competitive in a lot of games. Luckily, they have a good enough quarterback in Prescott to where they’ll come out victorious in some of the offensive shootouts they find themselves in.
12) Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 80.8 (B-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 13
Amidst all the risers and fallers in PFSN’s QBi rankings, Matthew Stafford is one of a select few who didn’t experience a massive change in the Week 2 rankings. He remains above average with a B- grade, which checks out after two above-average starts at the beginning of the 2025 season.
Stafford is tied for 11th with 0.15 EPA per dropback, and he’s eighth with 0.53 EPA per dropback in a clean pocket. If the Los Angeles Rams can keep him protected, there’s little doubt that the veteran can serve as a reliable distributor for their offense in 2025.
11) Drake Maye, New England Patriots
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 82.9 (B-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 23
Though his 2025 debut was pretty rocky, Drake Maye stabilized much more on Sunday in the New England Patriots’ win over the Dolphins. Now, he finds himself with the highest QBi ranking of any quarterback selected in the 2024 NFL Draft after Week 2.
Maye completed 82.8% of his passes against Miami, scoring three total touchdowns and no interceptions in the win. His passer rating jumped from 80.6 in Week 1 to 137.3 in the following game, earning him a much-deserved jump in his QBi grade.
10) Mac Jones, San Francisco 49ers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 84.8 (B)
Last Week’s Ranking: N/R
Stepping in with Brock Purdy injured, Mac Jones excelled in his first start for the San Francisco 49ers. He played a clean game against New Orleans, throwing three touchdowns and no interceptions with a 113.1 passer rating to lead his team to victory.
Jones’ 1.41 clutch score is the third-highest in the league, and his 0.43 EPA per dropback in close game situations finished near the top of the NFL, too. If he can carry this level of success into future weeks, he’ll not only keep a high QBi grade, but he might get looks for a bigger contract elsewhere from a QB-needy team down the line.
9) Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 84.9 (B)
Last Week’s Ranking: 12
Check back later with updates after Baker Mayfield’s performance on Monday Night Football.
8) Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 88.2 (B+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 4
The NFL’s current leader in passer rating at 136.6, Lamar Jackson predictably finds himself high in QBi grading to start the 2025 season. He’s thrown six touchdowns and no interceptions, and he’s led the Baltimore Ravens to consecutive games with 40 points or more.
Jackson wasn’t his typical electric self running the ball in Week 2 against Cleveland, as he was held to just 13 rushing yards. However, he threw four touchdowns and ended the game with a respectable 65.5% completion rate.
7) Geno Smith, Las Vegas Raiders
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 88.3 (B+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 9
Check back later with updates after Geno Smith’s performance on Monday Night Football.
6) Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 91.0 (A-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 21
Week 2 proved to be a massive turnaround point for Jared Goff, who came out of Week 1 in the bottom half among starting quarterbacks in QBi. After how well he played in the Detroit Lions’ blowout win over the Bears, he now has an EPA per dropback of 0.39 that ranks second in the entire league.
What’s getting overlooked with these insane TeSlaa catches is the UNBELIEVABLE passing accuracy by Lions quarterback Jared Goff! I mean these passes are ALMOST as RIDICULOUS as the catches. pic.twitter.com/Hq5kGF66et
— Patrick Curran (@PatrickWhatUp_) September 14, 2025
Sunday was about as good as you can get for Goff. He threw for five touchdowns with no interceptions, 334 passing yards, an 82.1% completion rate, and a near-perfect 156.0 passer rating. With an outing like that, it’s no wonder he jumped 15 spots up the rankings this week.
5) Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 91.2 (A-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 2
Josh Allen finds himself falling a few spots going into Week 3 with a performance against the Jets that doesn’t exactly jump off the screen when you look at the numbers. That said, he showed enough in that game, as well as in the Buffalo Bills’ comeback win over the Ravens in Week 1, to remain in the top five.
With just 148 passing yards, a 56.0% completion percentage, and no touchdowns scored on Sunday, Allen didn’t make a massive difference one way or the other for the Bills. But he’s still eighth in EPA per dropback and has the second-highest clutch score in PFSN’s database.
4) Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 92.5 (A-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 5
The Green Bay Packers find themselves starting 2025 on a high note, and a big part of that success has been the play of Jordan Love. He kicked off the year ranking fifth in QBi, and another strong outing against the Commanders on Thursday night moves him up a spot.
With 8.6 net yards per attempt, Love has the fourth-best mark in that category among all starting quarterbacks. He’s thrown four touchdowns and no interceptions, as well. Though his completion percentage dropped from 72.7% in Week 1 to 61.3% in Week 2, he also threw for 104 more yards in his second start of the season.
3) Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 92.8 (A-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 7
Brock Purdy missed Week 2 due to a variant of turf toe, and he’s expected to miss a few more games as a result. However, he remains in third place in QBi because of his stellar Week 1 outing to begin the year.
2) Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 99.1 (A+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 6
An early favorite for the top storyline of the year, the resurgence of Daniel Jones with the Indianapolis Colts has been a blast to watch. Sitting at 2-0 to start the year, the Colts have benefitted from strong play out of Jones, who leads the NFL with 9.8 net yards per passing attempt.
Jones is also second in the NFL with 588 passing yards through two games, and he’s combined for five offensive touchdowns with no interceptions to date. He comes out of Week 2 as one of just two quarterbacks with an A+ QBi grade.
1) Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 99.7 (A+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 3
Check back later with updates after Justin Herbert’s performance on Monday Night Football.
