‘The Full Girlfriend Stare,’ ‘Side Eye Was Crazy’ — Azzi Fudd’s Reaction Goes Viral Amid Paige Bueckers’ Rough Shooting vs. Caitlin Clark’s Fever

Azzi Fudd's side-eye reaction captures attention as Paige Bueckers' shooting struggles against Caitlin Clark and the Fever take center stage.

Injured Dallas Wings rookie Azzi Fudd got a front-row ticket to girlfriend and teammate Paige Bueckers’ shooting struggles against the Indiana Fever on Thursday.

Bueckers went 1-for-4 in the first quarter before heading to the bench. As the Wings superstar made her way to the sidelines, she received an interesting reaction from Fudd, drawing lively responses from the WNBA world.

With 17.8 seconds left in the opening period, Wings coach Jose Fernandez signaled for Bueckers to come out. The two-time All-Star perfunctorily dapped up her teammates, including Fudd, at the bench. The rookie’s reaction caught everyone’s attention.

Fudd appeared to give Bueckers a side-eyed glare, a move that didn’t take long to spread across social media.

“Azzi really out here giving Paige the full girlfriend stare like ‘Babe… what the [expletive] was that?'” a Philadelphia 76ers fan account posted.

“That side eye was crazy, like [expletive],” an X user wrote.

“She didn’t even touch her hand, which is why she did a self five recovery; she’s mad at the missed five,” another X user added.

“That’s how I look when people say she better than [Caitlin] Clark,” a WNBA observer remarked.

“She is hilarious,” a basketball supporter reacted.

“Azzi Fudd watching Paige Bueckers play like 😭,” a Manchester United fan wrote.

“I’m live at the half with Dallas Wings star point guard Paige Bueckers,” another WNBA supporter captioned a picture of an interview with a trash can.

The jokes came as Bueckers continued to struggle from the field. She did find other ways to contribute, though, helping Dallas stay within striking distance as the Wings entered the second quarter down just 22-18.

Bueckers’ cold shooting continued in the second frame. The 24-year-old went 1-for-4, including 1-for-2 at the free-throw line, but Dallas still managed to keep pace. The Wings and Fever went into halftime tied at 42-42.

Dallas then took control after the break, winning the third and fourth quarters by a combined score of 49-43 to escape with a 91-85 victory.

The win improved the Wings’ record to 2-5 without Fudd, who is out for the rest of the season to address recurring right knee soreness.

For Bueckers, it was a rough shooting night (5-for-16). Meanwhile, one perfectly timed look from Fudd was enough to steal the spotlight for a few minutes.

Fudd had a discreet reaction, but the WNBA community had plenty to say about it.
