A’ja Wilson Expected to Re-Sign With Las Vegas Aces on $1.4 Million Supermax Contract

Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson is expected to become the first WNBA player to sign a $1.4 million supermax contract under the new CBA.

With the WNBA’s collective bargaining agreement (CBA) agreed upon and confirmation of a 2026 season, attention now turns to the year ahead and the superstars returning to the court with new contracts that reflect their impact on the league.

One of those superstars is Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson, who will become the league’s first player to sign a million-dollar supermax contract, marking a historic milestone.

A’ja Wilson Expected To Sign Historic New Supermax Deal With Las Vegas Aces

Wilson is coming off a remarkable 2025 season in which she won virtually every major accolade available. She captured her third championship in four seasons, earned league MVP honors, finals MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and the scoring title — all in the same season. She was also named Time magazine’s Athlete of the Year.

It is no surprise that Wilson, a free agent, is expected to sign the league’s first supermax contract of $1.4 million to remain in Las Vegas, according to the Review-Journal. Previously, she signed a two-year, $200,000-per-year contract in 2023, which was not among the league’s highest. Now, she is set to become the first player to sign a supermax under the improved terms of the new CBA.

ESPN insider Shams Charania highlighted the landmark nature of the new CBA in relation to Wilson’s contract.

The supermax is set at $1.4 million, while the league minimum is $300,000, and the average player salary will be about $600,000. Revenue sharing will stand at 20 percent, and the team salary cap will rise to $7 million, a significant increase from the previous $1.5 million cap.

The agreement represents a major victory for the players’ union, which pushed for terms that reflect the league’s growth in popularity and revenue, driven in part by Caitlin Clark’s arrival.

Wilson is widely regarded as the league’s best player, particularly given that no player in either the NBA or WNBA has ever won all the honors she collected in 2025 in a single season. The Aces sought to reward her with this record-setting contract, and Wilson, despite interest from other teams, has long expressed her desire to continue her legacy in Las Vegas.
