Shilo Sanders signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent. He has played in all three preseason games for the NFC South team, as his battle to make the 53-man roster continues.
However, Sanders, who didn’t play well last week, was ejected in the final preseason game against the Buffalo Bills.
Shilo Sanders’ Chances of Making Bucs’ Roster Takes Massive Hit
Sanders was ejected for throwing a punch after a skirmish in the game against the Bills. The former Colorado star punched tight end Zach Davidson, and the video of the incident quickly went viral.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz wasn’t happy with the refs’ decision to eject Sanders from the game. “What a joke!” Schultz wrote on X. “Bucs rookie safety Shilo Sanders was ejected… for this? Like really? Be better NFL refs!”
However, it was not a good look for the rookie, as this was a crucial game for the former Colorado star and his chances of making the roster have now taken a big hit. Hopefully, Sanders will learn from the incident against the Bills and avoid putting himself in similar positions, as his coaches won’t be happy that he got ejected for a stupid mistake.
As mentioned earlier, Sanders didn’t play well last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. And before getting ejected against the Bills, he recorded just one solo tackle, had a missed tackle, and had a pass interference call against him. Now, he faces an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster.
Against the Steelers last week, Sanders finished the game with two solo tackles in the Buccaneers’ 17-14 win. Following the game, many fans on social media expressed their desire for the Buccaneers to cut him, and following the incident in tonight’s game, that could turn out to be a reality.

As the NFL’s roster cut deadline approaches, it will be interesting to see the Buccaneers’ reaction to Sanders’ ejection.
Sanders Receives Advice From Dolphins CB
Miami Dolphins cornerback Ethan Bonner recently spoke to PFSN’s Allison Koehler and gave advice to Sanders as a fellow undrafted free agent.
“Focus on doing your best effort and the time and time being and just being present in it,” Bonner said. “At the end of the day, it is business, and it can be cutthroat, but there’s a lot of guys that have gotten cut several times.”
Even if the 25-year-old safety gets cut, there is a high probability he will be picked by another team or sign with the Buccaneers’ practice squad.
