Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley has been doing his best to help the Titans improve from their 1-7 record in the 2025 NFL season. Ridley has been a target for Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward when he’s been on the field.
At the same time, Ridley has been mentioned as a player some NFL teams might look to pick up as the NFL trade deadline comes up on Tuesday. Right now, though, Ridley has some health issues to address.
What Has Happened to Titans WR Calvin Ridley?
Ridley is dealing with a hamstring injury, something that is going to sideline him for Sunday’s home game against Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers.
Ridley’s playing under his second head coach this season, with Mike McCoy as the interim head coach right now. Brian Callahan was fired after the Titans started this season 1-5.
But Ridley’s situation right now has his name alongside other teammates who have been ruled out of Sunday’s game. An update on the Titans who will miss the Chargers game was posted on X by ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
“Titans ruled out WR Calvin Ridley, DT Jeffery Simmons, OLB Arden Key and S Xavier Woods for Sunday’s game against the Chargers,” Schefter wrote on October 31. That’s a number of key players that will not be on the field for Tennessee on Sunday.
According to the PFSN NFL Offense Impact metrics, the Titans have a 56.6 Offense Impact Score and are graded out at an F.
Ridley has played in six games in the 2025 NFL season, having 16 receptions for 290 yards and no touchdowns. Besides the Titans, Ridley has played for the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars. Ridley was suspended by the NFL for the 2022 season for violating the league’s gambling policy.
In his career, Ridley has 404 catches for 5,665 yards and 40 touchdown receptions. Because Ridley has the ability to get loose downfield on routes, some NFL teams that need to find a veteran wide receiver are looking at him as a potential trade target.
The Titans appear to be in a rebuilding mode, as this season looks to be somewhat of a lost cause for them. Ridley might be able to bring some draft picks to Tennessee in a trade, which the team could use in future NFL drafts. But Ridley has to get healthy and heal from his hamstring injury.
At this point, Ridley probably would not mind going to an NFL team that’s competitive and looking to make the NFL playoffs. That’s not going to happen this season for the Titans at all.
