Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders has helmed another news cycle after his main competitor for the team’s QB1 position, Deshaun Watson, started the preseason game against the Chicago Bears last Saturday.
Sanders and Watson continue to split first-team reps during training camp, but Browns fans are getting impatient.
Sanders’ fans were further frustrated by wide receiver Jerry Jeudy after a clip showed the former Alabama Crimson Tide star dropping a pass from the quarterback.
Jerry Jeudy Slammed for Dropping Shedeur Sanders Dime
One fan was uncompromising in his solution for Jeudy. “Jerry Jeudy should be cut,” the fan wrote.
Another had an unflattering evaluation of Jeudy’s NFL career so far. “Worst receiver to go first round from Alabama,” was the complaint.
A third suggested that Jeudy drops the passes from Sanders on purpose to balance out Watson’s poor performances during training. “Every time Watson throws a pick, Jeudy drops a pass from #2 to keep things balanced,” the fan opined.
Another Browns fan was frustrated that Jeudy wasted another Sanders dime.
Tightest spiral I’ve seen from Shedeur and jerry still drops it

Analyst Garret Greenlee was also fed up with Jeudy’s persistent drops throughout his NFL career.
How has 100 or 200 extra balls from the jugs machine every day not solved this problem by year 7? This has been an issue his entire career
He has 60th percentile hand size so that’s not a problem https://t.co/0PKuEFfoy9

One person suggested that 2026 NFL Draft first-round pick KC Concepcion should be the Browns’ WR1.

Jeudy had an illustrious college football career, playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He earned one First-team All-American and two First-team All-SEC honors. In addition, he won the Fred Biletnikoff Award given to the country’s best receiver in 2018.
He was selected No. 15 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. His early years in Denver were beset by costly drops and one of the league’s lowest catch rates.
The former Alabama star was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2024. He later signed a three-year, $58 million contract extension with the franchise ($41 million guaranteed).
He had his most productive season in the NFL in 2024, tallying 1,229 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 90 catches. However, Jeudy also had the league’s most drops (13) and a 63.6% catch rate (No. 131 in the league).
Last season, Jeudy tallied 602 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 50 receptions, earning a PFN Wide Receiver Impact score of 66.2 (No. 76 in the NFL). Jeudy had the league’s second-highest drops (10) and a 47.2% catch rate (No. 217 in the league) that same year.
