Everybody knew the New Orleans Saints would have a tough season, but the fact that it looks this bleak shows that the rebuild is in full effect. Chris Olave has been a name on the rumor mill for years, but the Saints have held on to him.
Many feel that now may be the time to sell everything and go for a top pick with a few good quarterbacks in the 2026 NFL Draft. Here are some teams that make sense as a trade destination for Olave.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Calvin Austin has shown signs of promise, but his injury and the Saints’ use of Olave in the slot this year have combined to demonstrate that he could be a perfect fit in this short-passing scheme that the Pittsburgh Steelers are using and executing well under Aaron Rodgers.
It feels like forever that the Steelers have been looking to add to their receiver room, and while they acquired DK Metcalf over the offseason, they also lost George Pickens, so they still need another talented wideout to come in.
The flexibility that his contract provides would be beneficial for them to assess his fit and also allow them to explore another move without being constrained by the cap. After the Jacksonville Jaguars acquired Jakobi Meyers on Tuesday afternoon, Steelers fans were furious with the front office for not landing the Las Vegas Raiders WR. Now, they have a chance to make a deal for Olave instead.
New York Giants
With the rise of Jaxson Dart to starter and the injury to Malik Nabers keeping him out for the season, it would behoove the Giants to bring in another talented receiver and allow Dart to build the connection with him in live action.
This would also be a move that helps the Giants next season, when they could have an incredibly dynamic offense and potentially make some noise.

The Giants will look to keep it rolling, and while they have Wan’Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton on the outside, they need another talent at the position, even once Nabers is healthy.
With Olave’s cap hit for this season at just over $6.1 million, it could be a very sound investment for the Giants to bring him in. If they do, this is a team people should keep a close eye on in 2026.
San Francisco 49ers
Unfortunately, the injury bug seems to find its way to San Francisco year after year, constantly testing their depth. With Brandon Aiyuk still out while recovering from his torn ACL, and with Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall banged up, their WR room could use some help.
When a team relies on young players and those not accustomed to handling an expanded workload or defensive attention, it can cause some issues. Fortifying this receiver room with a guy like Olave, who could very well be their top guy with everyone healthy, would make this team much scarier going forward.
This team can’t seem to stay healthy, so adding another weapon could help them as they look to contend.
