With the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected Cam Ward from the University of Miami. Ward showed a lot of promise in his rookie year, so the team is expected to guide his development by signing a 21-touchdown wide receiver in free agency.
Tennessee Titans Viewed as a Top Spot for NFC North Wide Receiver
Despite having limited weapons on offense, Ward showed flashes that he could be the franchise quarterback that the Titans have so desperately needed. In 17 games played, Ward completed 59.8% of passes, threw for 3169 passing yards and 15 touchdowns, while throwing 7 interceptions in his rookie year.
He also carried the ball 39 times for 159 rushing yards and two touchdowns. In PFSN’s NFL Quarterback Impact Metric (QBi), he ranked 45th out of all quarterbacks with an impact score of 59.8 and a letter grade of F.
In PFSN’s NFL Offensive Impact Metric (OFFi), the Titans ranked among the worst teams in the league, with an impact score of 57.0 and a letter grade of F, placing them 30th.
To continue developing Ward, it’s apparent the team will need to surround him with better talent. PFSN’s Jacob Westendorf suggested that an NFC North free agent wide receiver’s top landing spot could be the Titans. Here’s what he said:

“Robert Saleh is familiar with Romeo Doubs as well. He spent some time with the Packers in 2024 after being fired by the New York Jets… Saleh is now in Tennessee and could use some help at receiver for his young quarterback, Cam Ward. Ward had some high moments last season, but could use more impact players around him,” Westendorf noted.
“Calvin Ridley was supposed to be their top receiver, but he only caught 17 passes a season ago, struggling with an injury. Doubs has been a steady presence during the first three years of Jordan Love’s tenure as a starter,” he added.
He might not be the biggest name at wide receiver, but Doubs has been a consistent performer and is still only 25.
Over 59 career games, Doubs has caught 202 receptions for 2424 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns. His best season was actually 2025, when he ranked 29th in PFSN’s NFL Wide Receiver Impact Metric (WRi) with an impact score of 77.9 and a letter grade of C+. He caught 55 receptions and 6 touchdowns for 724 receiving yards across 16 games in 2025.
