Serena Williams Admits to Being ‘So Tired’ As Her Daughters Olympia and Adira Keep Her Busier Than Ever

Serena Williams opens up about the physical toll of her busy life at home as she keeps up with her daughters.

Serena Williams has conquered Grand Slam finals, Olympic podiums, and pressure moments that defined a generation of tennis. Yet this week, the 23-time Major champion offered a glimpse into a very different kind of endurance test. She made a tweet on X, capturing the raw exhaustion of raising two young daughters.

Inside Serena Williams’ Life With Husband Alexis Ohanian and Their Two Daughters

Williams shares two daughters with Reddit co-founder and venture capitalist Alexis Ohanian, whom she met in Rome in 2015. Their relationship moved quickly. They got engaged in 2016 at the same hotel where they first crossed paths and married in a star-studded, Disney-themed ceremony in New Orleans in November 2017.

That same year, Williams welcomed their first daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. (known as Olympia), born in September 2017. The birth came months after Williams won the Australian Open while eight weeks pregnant. In August 2023, the couple added a second daughter, Adira River Ohanian, whose name carries the Hebrew meaning of “mighty” or “strong.”

Recently, the 44-year-old took to X to offer a relatable admission regarding a new kind of physical toll while raising her children. “I’m so tired I can feel fatigue in my feet. These kids……” she wrote.

Williams’ life has shifted dramatically since she stepped away from professional tennis after the 2022 US Open. During her last professional tour appearance in 2022, she battled through a grueling three-set match against Ajla Tomljanović before exiting the tournament, closing a career that included 23 Grand Slam singles titles and more than two decades at the top of the sport.

The physical endurance required to win Majors, she has suggested in various interviews over the years, pales in comparison to the around-the-clock demands of parenting.

In a Vogue essay in the summer of 2022, she said she was “evolving” away from the sport rather than retiring, signaling that her competitive chapter was closing while other priorities were coming into focus. Those priorities center on family and business.

While speculation about a comeback occasionally surfaces, especially after reports that she re-entered the professional drug-testing pool in early 2026, Williams has largely devoted her energy to her family and her expanding business portfolio.

She runs Serena Ventures, which invests in underrepresented founders, launched WYN Beauty in 2024 as a clean makeup brand designed for active lifestyles, and holds minority ownership stakes in teams such as the Miami Dolphins and Angel City FC.
