The Green Bay Packers moved into first place in the NFC North after winning a back-and-forth game with the Chicago Bears last week. Riding a four-game winning streak, Green Bay enters Week 15 firmly positioned in the race for both the division crown and the NFC’s No. 1 seed. However, a loss to the Denver Broncos has completely changed the picture in the NFC North.
What Are The Packers’ Chances Of Earning NFC’s No. 1 Seed?
After back-to-back losses to the Panthers and Eagles in early November, the Packers had rebounded impressively, winning four straight games. They secured an impressive victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 13 and then defeated the Bears in Week 14, improving to 9-3-1 and taking over the No. 1 spot in the NFC North. The 34-26 loss to the Broncos has significant implications for Green Bay.
According to PFSN’s Playoff Predictor, the Packers now have an 89.40% chance of making the playoffs, a 39.40% chance of winning the division, and just 0.60% chance of finishing as the NFC’s top seed.
In comparison, the Bears now have a 57.20% chance of winning the NFC North, and a 10.20% chance of securing the first seed in the NFC.
Jordan Love threw two interceptions in the loss against the Broncos, and lost Christian Watson to another injury. The Packers quarterback completed 24/40 of his throws against Denver and threw just one touchdown. For Green Bay to win the division, Love will have to step up and lead his team from the front.
Packers Remaining Schedule
- Week 16: Packers at Chicago Bears
- Week 17: Packers vs. Baltimore Ravens
- Week 18: Packers at Minnesota Vikings

The NFC North has proved to be a challenging division so far in 2025, but the Packers have positioned themselves well in both the division race and the hunt for the NFC’s No. 1 seed, even while navigating stretches of inconsistency.
Their recent surge was no fluke. Green Bay has taken meaningful steps forward on both sides of the ball. Josh Jacobs has revitalized the run game, turning it into a tone-setting force. At the same time, offseason acquisition Micah Parsons had elevated the defense into one of the league’s most disruptive units, but he is now out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL.
PFSN’s Offensive Impact metric gives the Packers a B grade with an impact score of 84.8, ranking them fifth in the NFL. Defensively, Green Bay has slipped slightly in recent weeks but still holds the No. 12 ranking based on performance through 13 games.
