Injuries plagued the NFL on Sunday night. The Baltimore Ravens lost a whopping five starters to injuries against the Kansas City Chiefs: quarterback Lamar Jackson to a hamstring injury, along with linebacker Roquan Smith, left tackle Ronnie Stanley, and cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Nate Wiggins.
For the New York Giants, the situation was also severe, with the franchise fearing the unfortunate reality that they could have lost wide receiver Malik Nabers for the season with a potentially torn ACL.
Odell Beckham Jr. Reacts to Malik Nabers’ Injury
Nabers was injured while trying to catch a deep ball down the right sideline in the first half Sunday afternoon.
He will undergo an MRI on Monday for confirmation. Several Giants teammates came onto the field to check on Nabers, who was in intense pain and was then carted to the locker room. It was clear the injury was serious, as the wideout immediately reached for his right leg when he went to the ground.
Before leaving the game, Nabers had two catches for 20 yards. The average recovery time for a torn ACL is six to nine months. If this were to happen, it would be a devastating loss for the Giants, who are now looking to build on a 1-3 record.
As such, former Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. offered his support to Nabers on X.
“My heart hurts for ya 1!!!!,” posted Beckham, referring to Nabers’ jersey number.

As a rookie, Nabers caught a franchise-record 109 passes for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in the 2024 season. He had tallied 16 catches for 251 yards and two touchdowns through three games this year.
Beckham also blamed the turf for injuries across the league.

The New York Giants currently have a D- grade and a score of 62.9 in PFSN’s Offense Impact metric.
It remains to be seen how the NFL will address all of the injuries and whether the league will make any adjustments to field and training staff protocols.
