Earlier this week, TMZ Sports broke the story that New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini rented a private boat together in Putnam County, Tennessee, in June 2021.
The documents showed both Vrabel and Russini signed the company waiver. On Thursday, the outlet went further, publishing video footage from that day. The clip shows Russini walking ahead of Vrabel on the rental company’s dock.
Pressure Continues To Mount on Mike Vrabel Amid Scandal Involving Dianna Russini
The footage is the latest in a string of developments that have stretched over a full month. On April 7, Page Six published photos of Vrabel and Russini holding hands at an adults-only resort in Sedona, Arizona.
Days later, Page Six published photos from 2020 of the pair appearing to kiss at a New York City bar. Then came reports of an alleged Spotify playlist Russini had made for Vrabel during the head coach’s losing streak with the Tennessee Titans.
The boat rental details added a new dimension, as TMZ reported that the two were the only people on board for the two-to-three-hour outing. Russini declined to pose for any photos with staff, but Vrabel took one with them.
Now, the video from the dock has gone viral on social media, and many people in the NFL world reacted to it.

“I wrote this a couple [of] weeks ago for The Atlantic, the Patriots are fooling themselves if they think this story is just going to go away,” Jemele Hill wrote on X. “Now that it’s crossed over into tabloid territory, they’re not only going to be digging through the crates, but following his every move from here on out.”
Russini has already resigned from her position at the Athletic due to the scandal, while Vrabel was not involved on the third day of the 2026 NFL Draft with the Patriots, as he attended counseling.
As of now, Vrabel’s job with the Patriots appears to be safe. However, nobody in or around the organization can say with certainty what else might surface between now and the start of the season, and at some point, the noise around their head coach could become too loud to resist.
