Florida State’s first season under new head coach Luke Loucks was a battle. The Seminoles finished 18-15 (10-8 in ACC play) and did not make the 2026 NCAA Tournament. They also declined to participate in either the National Invitation Tournament or the College Basketball Crown, opting to conclude their 2025-26 men’s college basketball season after regular and conference play.

Loucks faces a tough offseason ahead of the 2026-27 season, beginning with the departure of three of his seniors from the program after they exhausted their collegiate eligibility.
The Seminoles’ head coach also learned that nine players had declared their availability on the transfer portal. Three of these players are seniors who were expected to be done with their collegiate careers but have sought waivers to extend their eligibility.

McCray was the Seminoles’ leading scorer and distributor this past season, averaging 16.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.3 steals over 33 games. The 6’4″ Jacksonville transfer shot 45.8% from the field and 35.5% from beyond the arc.
MaGee, a transfer from Drexel, averaged 7.9 ppg and 2.8 rpg in 33 games this past season. The 6’6″ guard, who started 11 games for the Seminoles, shot 37.6% from the field and 32.4% from beyond the arc.
Steen made the most of his lone stint at Florida State last season. The 6’8″ Florida Southern College transfer was the Seminoles’ leading rebounder, averaging 5.8 rpg and 6.8 ppg. He played 19.8 minutes per game at FSU.

Miles played in 25 games for Florida State last season, averaging 5.4 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. He shot 36.1% from the field and 67.6% from the free-throw line. The 6’2″ guard entered the transfer portal on April 8 and committed to UNLV on April 15.
Garcia-Plata did not see action for FSU this past season, redshirting as an international freshman. He entered the transfer portal on April 7 and committed to Incarnate Word on April 15.
Maluk started in three of 22 games for Florida State this past season, averaging 1.6 ppg and 1.7 rpg. The 6’11” big man committed to McNeese State on April 22, weeks after entering the transfer portal.
Jones was the Seminoles’ third-leading scorer this past season, averaging 12.7 ppg. The 6’7″ forward was the team’s second-best rebounder, averaging 5.7 rpg. The St. Bonaventure transfer also averaged 1.1 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 42.7% from the field. Jones entered the portal on April 21, even though he had exhausted his eligibility. He would need a waiver to gain additional eligibility.
Wiggins was FSU’s second-leading scorer, averaging 13.3 points and 3.9 rebounds over 32 games this past season. The 6’10” senior forward shot 47.9%, including 38.7% from beyond the arc, and made 85.1% of his free throws. He entered the portal on April 13.
The 6’11” Muhammad saw action in 14 games for the Seminoles. The UMass transfer averaged 2.6 ppg and 1.1 rpg in 6.9 minutes per game. Muhammad, who played for Seton Hall in 2022-23, entered the transfer portal in hopes of securing a waiver to extend his eligibility.
Somerville, a sophomore transfer from UMass Lowell, played in 30 games for FSU this past season, averaging 8.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.4 apg, and 1.5 spg. He entered the transfer portal on April 7 and has yet to commit to another team. Osceola was sidelined last season while recovering from a hip injury. He entered the portal on April 10.
Bassong started in 17 of 33 games for FSU last season, averaging 5.9 points and 3.5 rebounds. The versatile wing shot 48.6% from the floor and 26.0% from 3-point range. The Seminoles officially announced his return on April 8, but he changed his mind on April 21, submitting paperwork to transfer from the team.

Crawford suited up in six games for FSU last season. The 6’1″ sophomore guard averaged 1.0 points per game. Lopez, a No. 17-ranked point guard and No. 157-ranked prospect per 247 Sports, did not play for the Seminoles this past season despite enrolling in the middle of the year.
Swinton played in 26 games during the 2025-26 season before sustaining an ACL injury in FSU’s final road game against Pitt. He averaged 4.5 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.0 steal per game, shooting 43.9% from the field and 32.8% from beyond the arc.

Anthony Robinson II suited up for 33 games for Missouri last season, averaging 8.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.0 apg, and 1.6 spg in 27.1 minutes. He shot 41.0% from the field and 31.4% from long range. A high-level defender, he committed to FSU on April 16 and signed with the team five days later.
Taylor, a 6’7″ guard/forward, broke out at UNC Asheville this past season. He started in 30 of the Bulldogs’ 32 games, averaging 18.9 ppg, 5.0 rpg, and 3.0 apg while shooting 45.3% from the field. He committed to FSU on April 15 and signed on April 20.
Rancik played for Colorado last season, averaging 12.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. The 6’11” forward started in 26 of 29 games for the Buffaloes and appeared in 62 games over two seasons. He committed to Florida State on April 19.
Abaev saw action in 24 games (12 starts) for Cincinnati as a freshman last season. The 6’8″ wing averaged 7.0 points, shooting 33.5% from the field and 64.9% from the free-throw line. He also tallied 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game during the 2025-26 season. He committed on April 13, two days after he visited FSU.
Amare Robinson played 30 games at Tallahassee State College, averaging 3.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 12.2 minutes per game. The guard shot 38.2% from the field. The younger brother of Anthony Robinson II signed with Florida State on April 21.

Bass is ranked No. 15 among shooting guards in the Class of 2026 and 97th overall. The four-star prospect attends Windermere Prep in Florida.
Barnes signed with Florida State on April 15, nearly two months after announcing his commitment to the Seminoles on February 26. The four-star combo guard, who reclassified from the 2027 class, is ranked No. 9 among combo guards and 90th overall.
Jones was a 6’5″ standout at Phoenix Country Day School, where he posted 1,762 career points as a four-year starter. The guard was a four-time all-region selection and earned Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, first-team all-conference, and all-region honors during his senior season.
Paul is a four-star small forward ranked 39th-best among small forwards in the Class of 2026 and 108th-best overall prospect, according to 247 Sports rankings. He plays high school basketball at Calvary Christian Academy.
Ponder is ranked sixth among centers in his class and No. 67 overall. The four-star center plays high school basketball at Gillon Basketball Academy.
Assui is a guard/forward with international experience in Italy’s LBA Serie A. The 20-year-old averaged 3.5 points and 3.7 rebounds in 27 games this past season. He previously committed to George Washington but later changed his mind and committed to FSU.
