Maxx Crosby was seemingly leaving the Las Vegas Raiders when they agreed to a trade with the Baltimore Ravens. The superstar defender reportedly failed his physical, leading the Ravens to cancel the deal. NFL insider Tom Pelissero provided an update on where he currently stands with the franchise.
Raiders’ Maxx Crosby Ends Trade Speculation With Strong Loyalty Statement
Crosby has spent his entire career in Las Vegas and has been one of the most dominant defenders in the NFL. This includes him finishing among the top two edge players in four of the past five seasons in PFSN’s Impact Rankings.
His contributions on the football field have been extremely valuable, while many reports suggest his leadership off of it has been just as important.
The only reason the Raiders have apparently been seeking a trade for him is that he also carries elite value in the trade market. Pelissero recently clarified what Crosby wants as he remains connected to trade rumors.
“My understanding is when teams have been checking on this, they have been told the same thing that (Maxx Crosby) told everyone from Mark Davis to John Spytek to Klint Kubiak to Rob Leonard, which is Maxx wants to be a Raider. Maxx is no longer trying to get out of Las Vegas,” explained Pelissero.
Crosby remains committed to staying with the Raiders, despite their roster undergoing a full rebuild. Pelissero went on to describe the defender’s mindset and how other teams are approaching his potential availability via trade.
“Maxx doesn’t want to go anywhere.”

“There are teams right now that would trade for Maxx Crosby. It could happen tomorrow. But Maxx is no longer of the mindset that he wants out. Maxx is of the opposite mindset which is, he is now a Raider again. He is going to do everything he can to be a part of the Raiders. Does that change? I don’t get that sense,” added Pelissero.

Many rumors have even circulated that Crosby did not want to be traded to the Ravens in the first place, so the deal falling through may have been his preference anyway. Pelissero seems to believe that the idea of trading him has likely gone away at this point.
It will be interesting to see if that changes as the 2026 NFL Draft approaches and the Raiders continue their rebuild during the offseason.
