Madden 20 – Ratings and much more

It’s the inaugural episode of what Kai’Chien has titled “Any given Friday V2”. It is version two of Any given Friday with your favorite hosts Eric Wiedeke and Kai’Chien Chisholm. Now let’s talk Madden 20.

EA Sports has been running their famous “Madden NFL” franchise for a long time. Originally titled “John Madden Football” in 1988, the sports franchise was changed to “Madden NFL” in 1994. The game comes out in August every year and is always met with its critiques. Fans of franchise mode, gameplay, and even Madden Ultimate Team or MUT for short. This year is like no other, but now it’s Madden Ratings.

PFN Article from Cole Thompson – Madden 20 Ratings

Pro Football Network writer Cole Thompson wrote an article (linked here) about his thoughts on the Madden 20 ratings. He gave a too high, too low, and just right list. There were two vast topics argued by our hosts. Deshaun Watson and Xavien Howard. Right off the bat let’s get this straight, Howard being an 83 overall is a JOKE. I had to put it in caps for you there. It is a joke. Even Deshaun Watson being an 82 overall, is an absolute joke. Howard is a lockdown corner for the Miami Dolphins and a ballhawk in their secondary. There are so many corners ranked ahead of him that honestly shouldn’t be.

When it comes to Deshaun Watson, an 82 rating is just too low. As stated in the article “…4,165 yards and 26 touchdowns with a 103.1 QBR rating.” It is understandable that the Madden NFL 20 devs want to “stretch ratings.” There have been so many players that turn into 99 overall players that aren’t in that class. All you do is develop and boom 99 overall. However, Watson, an 82 overall, is too far of a stretch. Cole argued that the 87 range is suited for Watson and we’d have to agree. Between 85-88 is the sweet spot I would’ve given Watson.

The good news for fans playing Madden 20 is how east getting Xavien Howard, and Deshaun Watson will be. Throw in some first-round picks, a sweetener cornerback or safety, and an extra second, and you should be able to get both of these players. I know I would.

    Cleveland Browns – Expectations

It’s been talked about on all the podcasts from PFN. The Cleveland Browns have high expectations. From the ownership down to the janitors, the Browns are on high alert. Eric argues on the podcast that he would show more concern on Baker Mayfield coming into the season. While Kai’ argued that the coach in Freddie Kitchens needs to be the most significant focus. It is a locker room pressure that Kai’ claims especially if Odell Beckham Jr. doesn’t get the ball. More proposing to nets in the future?

    Questions from the podcast team
