Kyle Pitts’ Free-Agency Landing Spot: NFL Analyst Predicts Where the Falcons TE Will Play in 2026

After Atlanta's 8–9 season and a coaching change, Kyle Pitts’ free agency becomes a major storyline for the Falcons’ offseason and future.

This season, the Atlanta Falcons finished 8-9 and missed the playoffs, prompting the firing of head coach Raheem Morris and the hiring of Kevin Stefanski.

The team is close to being a playoff-caliber team, but they might be losing a key target for Michael Penix Jr. in 2026 free agency. Here’s where tight end Kyle Pitts is predicted to sign.

Atlanta Falcons’ Kyle Pitts Free Agency Looms

In PFSN’s Ryan Guthrie’s 2026 NFL free agent predictions, Pitts is predicted to stay with the Falcons and be a part of Atlanta’s big three offensive weapons: Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Pitts. Here’s what Guthrie had to say on the predicted signing:

“Kyle Pitts staying in Atlanta suddenly makes a lot more sense under Kevin Stefanski. Pitts finally broke out this season, showing the player many expected earlier. With Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Pitts, Atlanta has one of the most exciting young trios in football. Stefanski thrives when he has versatile weapons, and Pitts is exactly that.”

This season, the Falcons’ offense only ranked 18th in PFSN’s NFL Offensive Impact Metric with an impact score of 74.2 and a letter grade of C. However, Pitts still had a phenomenal season, probably his best since his rookie season in 2021.

This season, Pitts played in all 17 games for the Falcons. Over that span, he caught 88 receptions (most of his career) for 928 yards and 5 touchdowns. In PFSN’s NFL Tight End Impact Metric (TEi), Pitts ranked as the eighth-best tight end with an impact score of 82.7 and a letter grade of B-.

Before the 2025 season, his best season was his rookie year in 2021. Pitts was selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of the University of Florida. In 17 games in 2021, he caught 68 passes for 1026 yards and 1 touchdown. He ranked sixth in PFSN’s TEi with an impact score of 82.0 and a letter grade of B-. He was also named to the Pro Bowl.

2022 started the downward slope of Pitts’ career. He played only 10 games that season, catching 28 passes for 356 yards and 2 touchdowns. In PFSN’s TEi, he ranked 13th among tight ends, with an impact score of 76.1 and a letter grade of C.

In 2023, Pitts played in all 17 games again, as he did in his rookie year. However, he didn’t come close to matching those numbers. He caught 53 receptions for 667 yards and 3 touchdowns. In TEi, it was the worst year of his career, ranking 33rd in the league with an impact score of 71.8 and a C- letter grade.

2024 was the second-worst year of his career, with an impact score of 75.5, a letter grade of C, and a ranking of 23rd in TEi. Pitts caught 47 passes for 602 yards and 4 touchdowns.

In 2025, Pitts showed everyone he could be the player deserving of the fourth overall draft pick in 2021. If Pitts goes back to Atlanta, and with an offensive mindset upgrade from Morris to Stefanski, the Falcons could sneakily be an offensive force next season.
