Patriots OC Josh McDaniels: A Look at His Marriage and Family

Laura met Josh in 2000, when they were both working for FiberTech, a relationship-based plastics solution company. On its site, the company bills itself as “an experienced rotational molder of plastic material handling products.” McDaniels told the Repository, in a statement reported by Heavy, that he worked for the company in Cleveland.

He worked for someone he had attended John Carroll with. He said, “I always knew I was going back into football. It was a hiatus until I figured out where I was going.” The couple married in 2002 and has built a family together. They prefer to stay out of the limelight, though Laura enjoys Pilates.

Together, they have four children: daughters Maddie, Livia, and Neenah, and a son named Jack. In 2016, Laura McDaniels spoke with Bleacher Report about her husband prioritizing family despite the demands of his NFL career.

She said, “This line of work can swallow you up. But when he’s with the kids, he can stop what he’s doing and talk about the school dance. … That wasn’t easy for him. He’s worked on it and still is working on it. I think he has changed.”

As offensive coordinator, McDaniels has helped the New England offense and quarterback Drake Maye. The couple moved from Massachusetts to Denver, then to St. Louis, before McDaniels returned to the Patriots in 2012.

New England Offense Under McDaniels

Per PFSN’s QB Impact Metrics, Maye ranked No. 2 behind San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy with an impact score of 91.1. The offense under McDaniels has been a major strength for the Patriots.

According to PFSN’s Offense Impact metrics, New England finished the season 14-3 with an 86.6 impact score. The Patriots are one win away from a Lombardi Trophy as they face the Seahawks in Super Bowl 60. The offense will be tested against Seattle’s ferocious defense.

New England defeated the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans, and the Denver Broncos to advance to the Super Bowl. Tomorrow evening will be the Patriots’ first Super Bowl appearance post-Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era.

The McDaniels family will be busy as the OC prepares for the big game Sunday evening.
