The New York Giants’ chaotic season took another turn this week. In Week 10, rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart exited the game with a concussion, and just a day later, head coach Brian Daboll was fired.
Jaxson Dart Injury Update
With 5:15 left in the third quarter, the Giants dialed up a QB keeper similar to Dart’s earlier rushing touchdown. This time, however, the result was far different. As Dart went to the ground, he lost control of the ball, hit his head on the turf, and fumbled, turning the play into a costly and dangerous moment.
Surprisingly, despite the blow, Dart stayed in the game when the Giants regained possession, quarterbacking two more plays before the end of the quarter. During the next break, he was taken to the medical tent and later walked off to the locker room with his head down. He was officially ruled out with a concussion.
Russell Wilson took over for the remainder of the game, but the Giants fell 24‑20, getting outscored 14‑3 in the fourth quarter.
Unfortunately for New York, Dart has been ruled out of the Week 12 game against the Detroit Lions, and Jameis Winston is set to start.

As for Dart’s chances of playing next week, he must first complete the NFL’s five-step concussion protocol, which involves rest, light exercise, non-contact football activities, and ultimately receiving clearance from both team physicians and an independent neurologist. There is a good chance he will be available to make his return in Week 13.
The Giants and their fans would love to have Dart back as soon as possible, and for good reason. Since taking over in Week 4, the rookie has thrown for 1,417 yards and 10 touchdowns while adding 317 rushing yards and seven more scores on the ground. He is currently ranked 13th among the quarterbacks in the league according to PFSN’s QB Impact metric.
New York Giants’ Insights for Week 12
Team: The Giants are 0-4 on the road when they have led by 10+ points.
QB: Jameis Winston recorded a QBi score of 80.3 (B-) in Week 11 against the Packers. It is his 22nd-best score in 90 career qualified games.
Offense: The Giants’ PFSN Defense Impact score (OFFi) of 70.0 (C-) is an improvement from the 62.7 (D-) in 2024 and 56.2 (F) in 2023.
Defense: New York currently has a 65.9 (D) DEFi score for the season. It matches the franchise’s lowest score since 2000. In 2015, Tom Coughlin’s last season as head coach, the Giants also had a 65.9 DEFi score.
Fantasy: Over the past three weeks, Tyrone Tracy Jr. has started each of them, but his snap share (54.9%) is hardly ahead of Devin Singletary (45.1%), and he has just two red zone touches over that stretch (Singletary: 15).
