It is an exciting time in the world for those who follow the New Orleans Saints. Not only is their legendary Drew Brees going to be enshrined into the Hall of Fame soon, but their franchise wide receiver, Chris Olave, got a payday. So, how did the NFL world react to this news?

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Olave has signed a four-year extension with the Saints. The deal is worth up to $132 million, and $90 million in guarantees.

Olave is coming off an amazing year, as he had 100 receptions for 1,163 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns in 16 games.

For his great season, Olave was named second-team All-Pro, the first time in his career that he was named to an All-Pro team.

Olave does have a higher chance of having another great season. For starters, he will be catching passes from Tyler Shough, who showed great promise at the end of his rookie season last year. Olave will play opposite Jordyn Tyson, who the Saints took in Round 1 of the NFL draft back in April. Tyson was a standout college prospect, earning an 81.2 grade and ranking 24th according to PFN’s College WR Impact Metric.

One user on X noted that Zay Flowers’ contract extension will now be much more costly after Olave’s, as the Saints wideout will earn around $33 million annually. Shan Shariff, the host of “Shan & RJ” on 105.3 The Fan, wrote, “33 per Pickens and Quinnen leaves falling,” indicating how Olave’s extension is helping set the price for George Pickens, while other contracts are setting up the value for Quinnen Williams.

If Olave, Tyson, and Shough can all stay healthy and click, the Saints could have one of the most potent offenses in the entire NFL.
