Updated Derrick Henry Fantasy Outlook 2026: Ravens RB Is Being Drafted Too Late

Derrick Henry looked as elite as ever last season. Find out why the Ravens RB would have to be a historical anomaly to post another RB1 season.

Derrick Henry is entering his age-32 season, a point where practically every other running back in NFL history has broken down or transitioned into a backup role, but the normal laws of aging simply do not apply here. He remains the most consistent rushing force in the sport, racking up over 300 touches in four straight seasons and bulldozing his way to 12 or more rushing touchdowns in four consecutive years, as well as seven of his past eight.

Should I Draft Derrick Henry in Fantasy Football?

Finding that type of guaranteed workload and elite goal-line equity is nearly impossible in the modern NFL landscape, but he falls in some leagues as managers try to apply common logic to this uncommon player.

What makes Henry’s profile even more staggering is his sustained efficiency despite the volume. He is coming off consecutive seasons averaging north of five yards per carry, completely dispelling any notion that his legs are getting heavy or his burst is fading.

If you needed concrete proof that he doesn’t slow down over the course of a punishing 17-game season, you just have to look at his finish to last year. Henry ripped off 100+ rushing yards in four straight games to close out the campaign, punching in six rushing touchdowns over that stretch.

“De-Hember”.

There is admittedly some week-to-week variance in output if the Ravens happen to struggle in a given matchup. Baltimore has largely been great at controlling the tempo, and they operate as the third-highest scoring offense in the league during the two seasons they’ve had Henry leading their backfield, something that minimizes the impact of that concern in a major way.

When this offense is clicking and playing with a lead, their RB1 getting into the end zone and churning out yardage is as close to inevitable as we have in fantasy football right now. Draft with confidence and worry about Father Time another time.
