When Will Drake London Return? Latest Update on Falcons Star’s Injury

Drake London remains sidelined with a PCL sprain as the Falcons might navigate their receiving corps without their top target on Sunday.

The Falcons are 4-8 and coming off arguably their toughest loss of the season against the New York Jets. The franchise appears to be in disarray: Michael Penix is out for the season, they don’t own a first-round pick, and close games continue to slip away.

Star wide receiver Drake London has also been dealing with an injury. The team provided a new update on his status on Friday.

What Is the Latest on Drake London?

The injury occurred back in Week 11 against the Panthers. It wasn’t confirmed when exactly it happened, but Dr. Tom Christ suspected it took place on a pass intended for London down the sideline, with only seconds left in the fourth quarter.

In the play, London fell to the ground awkwardly and appeared to injure his knee. He left the game shortly after and did not return. The next day, Ian Rapoport announced that London had sustained a PCL sprain. Later that afternoon, Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said London would be week-to-week with the knee injury.

London went on to miss both Week 12 and Week 13. The Falcons went 1-1 during that stretch, beating the Saints and then falling to the Jets.

After a couple of weeks of rest, fans were hopeful London might return for Week 14 against the Seahawks. That hope was lost Friday afternoon, however, when Adam Schefter announced, “Falcons WR Drake London is out for Sunday’s game against the Seahawks.”

This will mark the third straight game that London misses. He recorded three consecutive DNPs this week, which does not indicate that he was close to returning. With how the Falcons’ season has unfolded, there is not much incentive for the team to rush him back.

In nine games this season, London has totaled 60 catches, 810 receiving yards, and six touchdowns. He ranks eighth among all wideouts according to PFSN’s NFL WR Impact metric.

Atlanta’s second leading receiver in yards is running back Bijan Robinson, which shows how important London has been to the offense. Expect Darnell Mooney and Kyle Pitts to operate as the Falcons’ top true receiving options while London remains out.

Atlanta plays Tampa Bay next Thursday in Week 15, which is a short week. The more likely scenario is a return in Week 16 against the Arizona Cardinals. The Falcons will finish their season hosting the Rams and Saints, both matchups where Atlanta would love to have their star WR back in the lineup.

Atlanta Falcons’ Insights for Week 14

Team: Atlanta’s last four losses are by a combined 13 points.

QB: In Week 13, Kirk Cousins posted his highest QBi (75.1, C) of the four 2025 games for which he qualified for a grade.

Offense: The Falcons have a PFSN Offense Impact score of 76.3 (C), down from 80.1 (B-). Atlanta is ranked 26th in points, down from 13th last season.

Defense: Atlanta’s DEFi is ranked 15th this season. A year ago, the Falcons had the 29th-best DEFi score.

Fantasy: Kyle Pitts set a season high in receiving yards against the Jets (82), and that’s great, but with one end zone target this season, he’s still a TE with a very wide range of outcomes.
