Which 2026 NFL Draft Picks do the Dolphins Have After Deadline Deal?

The fastest way for a team to kick off a rebuild is by having a lot of draft capital. Draft picks offer an organization the flexibility to acquire young talent, trade for established players, or move up or down the draft board.

The Dolphins are using that strategy ahead of the deadline, as they traded star pass rusher Jalean Phillips to the Eagles in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

With the Phillips trade, Miami now holds eight selections in the upcoming draft. Here’s where those picks fall.

Miami’s 2026 Draft Picks

1) 1st round pick (Miami)

2) 2nd round pick (Miami)

3) 3rd round pick (Miami)

4) 3rd round pick (Houston Texans)

5) 3rd round pick (Philadelphia Eagles via Phillips trade)

6) 4th round pick (Miami)

7) 5th round pick (Miami)

8) 7th round pick (Miami)

How Does Miami’s Draft Capital Set Them Up For the Future?

Miami’s roster is one of the league’s worst, and it’s shown on the field this season. Through nine games, the Dolphins’ offense ranks 24th in the NFL according to PFSN’s OFFi metric, while the defense sits 30th in the league per PFSN’s DEFi metric, a mark that will likely worsen with Phillips’ departure.

Having eight picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, five of which come in the first two days, should give the Dolphins, at the bare minimum, some flexibility on draft day. It’s unclear what Miami’s roster will look like by April, but there’s a strong chance the team moves on from some of their biggest stars, including quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

If Miami is in the market for a quarterback on draft day, all that draft capital could allow them to move up for the top signal-caller in the class. If the Dolphins keep Tagovailoa, those picks could help them add much-needed talent around him, including on the offensive line and across the defense.
