It may be a bit early to pick the steal of the 2025 NFL Draft, as that will be determined as the season and careers of these young prospects play out. However, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver legend Dez Bryant seems to think that he has identified one of the steals of the draft already, not long after being taken.
Dez Bryant Calls Tre Harris ‘One of the Steals of the Draft’
The Los Angeles Chargers used the 23rd pick in Round 2 of the NFL Draft (55 overall) to select wide receiver Tre Harris out of Ole Miss. Quick to his defense was Bryant, claiming Harris to be a steal with a post on his X account.
“One of the steals of the draft!” proclaimed the former Pro Bowl wideout.

A steal he may be as the Louisiana Tech-turned-Ole Miss product finished last season with 60 catches, 1,030 yards, and seven touchdowns catching passes from the previous night’s New York Giants first-round selection, Jaxson Dart.
Even better for Harris is the team that selected him — Los Angeles. The Chargers are coming off an electric comeback season during head coach Jim Harbaugh’s first year.
Despite question marks going into last year in the receiver room after losing Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, Harbaugh coached quarterback Justin Herbert to produce nearly 4,000 yards and tossed 23 touchdowns to three interceptions, in part due to last year’s Chargers’ rookie standout, Ladd McConkey.
Herbert’s receiving core only gets brighter by adding the 6’3″ Harris. PSFN’s Ian Cummings states, “Harris is unique in how well-rounded he is as a pass-catcher. His highlight plays involve his elite catching instincts and hand-eye coordination, and his size at 6’2″, 205 pounds stands out on tape, but he’s also an intelligent and physical route runner with an added RAC flair.”

Cummings listed Harris as the eighth-best wide receiver available in the 2025 NFL Draft, and he will hopefully be the next Chargers rookie receiver to contribute in a big way this season. In a room that has regained Williams and returns McConkey, Harris has all the tools in the world to succeed.
The Chargers have been loading up the offensive side of the ball. They brought running back Najee Harris in through free agency and added Omarion Hampton in the draft’s first round, and now Herbert has another weapon in the form of Harris. If Bryant’s statement proves true, the Kansas City Chiefs’ competition in the AFC West has gotten even tougher thanks to the Chargers.
