‘Please Be Okay,’ ‘The Pain Never Ends’ — NFL Fans React to Jets RB Breece Hall Suffering Non-Contact Injury in Practice

The NFL fans on social media reacted to the New York Jets running back Breece Hall's non-contact injury during practice on Monday.

Running back Breece Hall had a breakout season last year for the New York Jets, tallying 1,000 rushing yards for the first time in his nascent NFL career.

However, Hall suffered a concerning non-contact injury while running after a catch during Monday’s practice session, leaving Jets fans anxious about the running back’s health ahead of their season opener against the Tennessee Titans on September 13.

NFL Fans React to Breece Hall’s Training Injury

Hall walked off the training field under his own power and, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, received treatment for a groin injury.

NFL fans on X had mixed reactions to Hall’s injury news:

Analyst Miguel Chapeton sympathized with fantasy football owners after Hall’s injury coincided with Arizona Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love’s high ankle sprain.

“Somewhere out there are Jeremiyah Love and Breece Hall owners who have had a rough 24 hours,” Chapeton wrote.

One Jets fan was deflated by Hall’s non-contact injury before the season proper kicked off. He said, “The pain never ends.”

Sports Illustrated’s Michael Fabiano voiced his frustration with Hall’s injury by writing, “Come on! What is going on?”

Brandon lamented the rotten luck of Jets fans and wrote, “It truly never gets easier as a Jets fan.”

“PLEASE be okay, Breece Hall,” Glaser pleaded.

‘The Fantasy Formula’ was shocked by the league’s mounting injury toll during the preseason and said, “The worst preseason with injuries ever? I mean this is getting ridiculous.”

Sal Vetri prayed that Hall’s injury would turn out to be a minor strain. “For the love of god just be a mild strain,” Vetri posted.

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn later shared an update on Hall and said, “I don’t think it was a big deal.”

The Jets selected Hall No. 36 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, and he quickly became one of the league’s most explosive offensive players. He tore his ACL in a Week 7 game against the Denver Broncos, ending his rookie season. The former Iowa State Cyclones star picked up where he left off in his sophomore season, establishing himself as a Jets mainstay.

Hall tallied 1,065 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns on 243 carries, adding 350 receiving yards and 1 score on 36 receptions for the Jets last season. He earned a PFN Running Back Impact score of 75.2 (No. 21 in the league).

In May, Hall agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $45.75 million, which made him one of the league’s highest-paid running backs.

In the last three years, the running back has averaged 1,453 yards from scrimmage and 7.3 scores per season.
