Defensive Tackles Drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft

If quarterback play is what wins in today’s NFL, then the ability to make them uncomfortable is reasonable to put a premium on.

We saw four DTs come off the board in the first round last season, a clear sign that our understanding of the impact that these big men have is increasing.

We take a look at the defensive tackles selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, trying to uncover which teams got it right and will thrive in the future as a result.

Which Defensive Tackles Were Drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft?

Byron Murphy II, Texas | Seattle Seahawks

Round 1, Pick 16

Bryon Murphy II, a four-star recruit, put up five sacks and eight tackles for loss in 2023, and that output doesn’t do justice to the week-to-week impact he had. Murphy has all the tools to succeed as a pass rusher, a block absorber, and a playmaker.

He may lack elite physical traits, but Murphy’s processing speed is strong and could help him overcome those limitations.

The Seahawks allowed the third-most yards per game last season (371.4), and the second defensive player drafted in this year’s draft could make an impact in short order.
