Cornerbacks Drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft

The most important part of a defensive secondary is the cornerback. Here you can find every cornerback selected in the 2024 NFL Draft.

While having a good pass rush is essential to a strong defense, it also helps when teams can lock down one side of the field with a single player. That’s where the elite cornerback can help. Here are all the cornerbacks taken in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Which Cornerbacks Were Drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft?

Quinyon Mitchell, Toledo | Philadelphia Eagles

    Round 1, Pick 22

It took 22 picks before a defensive secondary player was selected. The Eagles made Quinyon Mitchell the CB1 of the 2024 NFL Draft class.

A three-year starter at Toledo, Mitchell had 45 passes defended, six interceptions, and 116 tackles across his final three seasons. Mitchell has the physical foundation of a high-level playmaker, and he has the instincts of one, too.

Particularly in off-man and zone, he’s adept at recognizing routes and breaking early on passes. Still a work in progress in press-man coverage, Mitchell needs some development but has the potential to be a future shutdown corner in the NFL.

Terrion Arnold, Alabama | Detroit Lions

    Round 1, Pick 24

Just two picks later, the second cornerback went off the board when the Lions selected Alabama’s Terrion Arnold.

A two-year starter, Arnold amassed 20 passes defended and six interceptions to go along with 108 total tackles. He provides immediate support to a secondary that struggled at times last season.

As one might expect from a former five-star recruit, Arnold is a special mover. In short ranges, he has an incredibly uncommon mix of foot speed, hyperactive twitch, and fluidity.

And as a vertical mover, Arnold is an instant accelerator with the long speed to recover ground. Arnold should start right away.

Nate Wiggins, Clemson | Baltimore Ravens.

    Round 1, Pick 24

The third cornerback off the board goes to the Baltimore Ravens. Finally, without a glaring need at wide receiver, the Ravens look to add to an already quality defense, but one that seems to suffer from the injury bug.

Nate Wiggins is a young and promising CB who has all of the tools to be a productive and multidisciplined cover man at the next level.

At around 6’2″, 182 pounds, he’s a lean athlete with an enthralling mix of quickness, elite closing speed, fluidity, and ball skills.

While Wiggins is not great against the run, he’s athletic and well-rounded to contribute right away. Given the proficiency of the Ravens’ coaching staff, fans should have every confidence he can emerge into a starting-caliber corner at the NFL level.
