Following the departure of Devin Singletary to the New York Giants, Houston was searching for a new starting running back. Meanwhile, the Bengals already awkwardly agreed to a two-year deal with Zack Moss in free agency and moved on from Mixon. Tuesday’s reported trade was a perfect match for both sides.

How Tight End Mike Gesicki Fits the Bengals Offense

On Monday, Cincinnati reportedly re-signed Sample to a three-year, $10.5 million deal. While Sample is highly regarded for his blocking ability, he hasn’t shown much potential as a receiving weapon in the NFL.

This is likely why the Bengals have reportedly agreed to a one-year, $3.5 million deal with athletic tight end Mike Gesicki. Given Cincinnati’s lack of depth at tight end, Gesicki should immediately step in as the top target at the position for the Bengals.

While several guards and centers have signed massive deals in free agency, the offensive tackle market is off to a slow start. Players like former Bengals starting right tackle Jonah Williams have yet to agree to terms with a team during the NFL’s legal tampering period.

Williams is widely expected to leave Cincinnati as he searches for an opportunity to start at left tackle. Pro Football Network’s Josiah Caswell offered his take on which teams should target Williams in free agency, including one of the Bengals’ rivals in the AFC North.

    Kendall Fuller Free Agency Predictions

Following the reported departure of cornerback Chidobe Awuzie in free agency, Cincinnati could use some more help in its secondary. The Bengals reportedly agreed to a deal with safety Geno Stone on Monday to fortify their situation at safety.

But Cincinnati has yet to fill the void left by Awuzie agreeing to a deal with the Tennessee Titans. Kendall Fuller is a versatile defensive back who can line up all over the secondary. Fuller could be exactly the type of addition the Bengals are searching for.

Report: DJ Reader Scheduled to Visit Detroit Lions

Following a season-ending quad injury, former Cincinnati defensive tackle DJ Reader has an interesting market in free agency. According to multiple reports, both the Titans and Detroit Lions are showing interest in signing Reader away from the Bengals.

While Cincinnati hopes to keep Reader, his injury status could make things interesting this offseason. Many assumed Reader wouldn’t have much of a market due to his age and recent injury, but that isn’t the case. The veteran is scheduled to visit Detroit this week.
