Alabama vs. South Carolina Head-to-Head Record

The series between Alabama and South Carolina dates all the way back to 1937, with the Crimson Tide dominating the matchup in its early years. According to  Winsipedia, Alabama won the first eight meetings and has maintained firm control of the rivalry ever since.

South Carolina, meanwhile, has managed to claim four victories in total, including one win from a vacated game, giving the Gamecocks a 4–12  record against the Tide.

Although Alabama has historically had the upper hand, South Carolina’s rare successes in this series have provided some of the most memorable moments in Gamecocks’ football history.

Alabama vs. South Carolina Prediction

In what some would call a trap game, you can never expect Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks to roll over or not to play hard, so it will remain to be seen how Alabama plays in this one.

The Crimson Tide is ranked higher than the Gamecocks in many categories, but there is zero room for error in the SEC, and this will be a big test of how prepared Kalen DeBoer has his team on game day.

The key matchup for me is the significantly higher ranking of Alabama’s offensive line compared to South Carolina’s. With a quarterback with all the talent in the world, but a struggle to stay healthy, I am not sure they can protect him enough to allow him to make the dual-threat impact we are so used to seeing from LaNorris Sellers.

Alabama has earned its fourth ranking in the AP Polls, and while they are playing in another hostile environment in the SEC, Ty Simpson and the boys will be too much for the Gamecocks to handle.

Alabama has been pushed to the brink this season, and they’ve bent but have not broken with consecutive wins against Georgia, Vanderbilt, Missouri, and Tennessee in successive weeks, with all of these teams ranked in the top-25 at the time of the meeting.

South Carolina may be able to keep this within two touchdowns, but right now, Alabama looks like they are on a mission and will win this game.

Prediction: Alabama 31, South Carolina 24
