NFL Legend Brett Favre Shows Support for Jaxson Dart Amid Backlash for Introducing President Donald Trump

NFL legend Brett Favre voiced his support for Jaxson Dart after the Giants QB drew backlash for introducing Donald Trump.

There’s a pretty thin line between sports and politics, and New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart walked straight across it. His latest off-field moment lit up social media circles and split the NFL world down the middle, drawing shots from inside his own locker room.

Now, one of the most decorated NFL stars, Brett Favre, has made his stance clear with just one word on the controversial situation, which is far from dying down.

Brett Favre Backs Jaxson Dart With Just One Word

Conservative political commentator Danielle Gill posted a photo of Dart and Megan Rapinoe, writing, “In a world of Megan Rapinoes, be a Jaxson Dart.”

Favre saw the post and didn’t need a paragraph to weigh in. His endorsement came with just one word. “Agreed,” the Hall of Fame QB replied, with a ‘100’ emoji.

Gill’s post drew a political line between the two athletes, holding up Rapinoe, the former USWNT star known for her progressive activism, against Dart, who had just shared a stage with President Trump.

Favre wasn’t the only one to back Dart. Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey, a two-time All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowler, questioned the entire scenario over the weekend. “The fake Trump hate funny to me,” Humphrey wrote on X. “Majority voted for him but everybody seem to hate him lol…Somebody lying.”

How Dart Landed In The Middle Of A Political Firestorm

Dart took the stage Friday in Suffern, New York, to introduce President Donald Trump at an event backing Rep. Mike Lawler. He walked out to “Eye of the Tiger,” started a “Go Big Blue” chant, then called it “an honor” and “a privilege” to be there before bringing out Trump.

Trump leaned into the moment from the podium, calling Dart a “future Hall of Famer,” talking up his ability, and saying the QB had “legs like tree trunks.” He repeatedly pulled Dart into his remarks throughout the speech.

The backlash hit fast, and some of it came from inside the building. Dart’s own teammate, fellow 2025 first-rounder Abdul Carter, posted, “thought this sh*t was AI, what we doing man,” before walking it back hours later. “Me & JD6 are good! We spoke earlier as Men,” Carter wrote. “Y’all can keep y’all narratives.”

Plenty of others piled on online, slamming Dart for mixing football and politics, while a separate camp defended his right to speak and took issue with Carter airing the disagreement publicly rather than handling it privately.

According to PFSN’s QB Impact Metric, Dart posted an impact score of 76.3 last season, ranking 14th in the league. He enters his second season under new Giants coach John Harbaugh, carrying real expectations after a promising rookie year.

The 25th overall pick of last year’s draft completed 63.7% of his throws for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions across 14 games, adding 487 rushing yards and 9 scores on the ground.
