‘Somebody Lying’ — Ravens’ All-Pro Calls Out ‘Fake Hate’ of Donald Trump After Jaxson Dart Backlash

Jaxson Dart faced some vitriol from the NFL world and even a fellow Giants teammate, but one NFL star isn't buying the Donald Trump hate.

The world of sports and politics often gets intertwined. While some NFL players choose not to divulge their political beliefs, others opt to share their opinions.

The most recent example is New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart introducing President Donald Trump at an event in New York. The appearance caused immediate backlash from the NFL world, including some players in Dart’s locker room. However, a perennial All-Pro candidate for the Baltimore Ravens isn’t buying the “hate.”

Marlon Humphrey Defends Jaxson Dart Amid Donald Trump Backlash

Dart, who is entering his second season in the NFL, introduced Trump in a moment that quickly went viral and drew widespread criticism.

Given his polarizing nature, many called out the former first-round pick, including fellow second-year Giants player Abdul Carter.

Carter wrote, “thought this sh!t was AI, what we doing man.” However, some have come to Dart’s defense as well, instead criticizing Carter for taking any disagreements to a public platform.

Soon after, the edge rusher put out another post, claiming, “Me & JD6 are good! We spoke earlier as Men. Yall can keep yall narratives.”

On Sunday, Baltimore Ravens star Marlon Humphrey, who’s is a two All-Pro selection and four-time Pro Bowl selection, chimed in and argued that the vitriol against Dart and the President doesn’t seem organic.

“The fake Trump hate funny to me. Majority voted for him but everybody seem to hate him lol…Somebody lying,” Humphrey wrote on X.

To Humphrey’s point, a number of fellow NFL players came to Dart’s defense over the weekend after the Trump drama started. They supported Dart’s freedom to express his opinion and took issue with Carter calling out his teammate publicly instead of dealing with the issue behind closed doors.

It remains to be seen if the political differences will cause any issues behind-the-scenes for the Giants’ locker room, but it sounds like Dart and Carter have worked through their issues and are now on the same page.

Dart and Carter are both cornerstone pieces for New York, as the Giants are hoping Dart can be their quarterback of the future while Carter wreaks havoc on the defensive line. As a rookie, Dart ranked 18th in PFSN’s QB Impact Score last season. He threw for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions while also rushing for 487 yards and 9 scores on the ground. The Giants hired head coach John Harbaugh this offseason, so expectations will be heightened in 2026.
